---Patrick's POV---
"Hey mom, I'm home!" I called out through the house. Seemed empty. I threw my bag down at the little side table by the front door and took my shoes off, putting them neatly on the shoe rack. I took a right into the living room. Megan sat on the white couch, slumped back, watching the TV.
"Hey." She said merely, not even looking at me. To Megan, it was just a regular day at school. She went to my old school still. My mom didn't feel it right to make us all move, well, just me and Megan. Kevin wasn't at school anymore. But yeah.
I took a seat next to her, she still paid no attention to me. "Where's mom?" I asked her.
Still, without looking, she replied, "Her and Kevin have gone to visit Grandma. I didn't wanna go with and she figured you didn't either."
Yeah, she was right. I wouldn't want to go. Grandma, although I loved her incredibly, was extremely boring. She had dementia and she repeated herself timelessly about the 'Good old days' and stuff that we already knew about.
"What are you watching?" I questioned, unsure of what it was on the TV.
Without answering the question, she stood up, sighed angrily and squealed. "Can't you just leave me alone, Patrick. Dear God you're like a bug!" Megan stormed out of the room. I laughed to myself. Such a stroppy teenager.
My phone vibrated in my pocket. I took it out. A message from Electra. My heart beat became faster. What's wrong with you Patrick? She's just a girl. I open the text.
'Hey! So do you wanna hang later or do you have plans?'
I reply 'Hi. Yeah I'd love to. Maybe you could come over so that we can study?'
Electra was a very nice girl. She was smart and kind and sensitive and gorgeous and- Wait, what. Did I just say that she's gorgeous... Well, anyone can be gorgeous.... Right? I didn't have to like a person in that way to call them beautiful...
Electra replied. 'Yeah sure that'd be cool. Just send me directions to your house and I'll be there when I can.'
Great! Gonna get some studying done and... And I'm having a girl in my house.
A girl. In my house.
I sent Electra the directions quickly and threw my phone aside. I leapt up off the couch and darted out of the living room. I ran upstairs, missing every other step, and I ran into Megan's room, without knocking.
"Megan! You need to go. Now!" I demanded her, a little out of breath.
Megan threw down her stupid girly magazine and looked at me. Ew. I hated her room. Her walls were pink. Her carpet was pink. Her curtains were pink. Her bed was pink. Her everything was pink. She has all these posters of like Zack Effron and that Robert Patterson dude. Geeze, they're terrible anyway.
She cocked an eyebrow. "Why do I have to leave? This is my house too, you know."
I breathlessly responded. "Look, someone's coming over here in like ten minutes, and you need to either stay in your room or get out. Which'll it be?"
Megan sat on her pink floral bed, looking at my feet, trying to figure out what she'd do. Eventually, she said, "I'll stay in my room."
"Great. Thanks." Was my last words. I left the room immediately. Wait. I'd better see if my room was clean. Obviously we'd be going in there.
I walked to the door opposite Megan's and opened it. My pale blue room was revealed. It's always been pale blue. Never really redecorated. My double bed sat in the middle of the back wall with the two side tables. Over in the corner was my drum set. Yes. I play drums. There was a desk behind the door and a TV placed above it, so you could see it when on the bed.
