Just clarifying, the stuff that's bolded and in italics are things they're being spoken through sign language. I had to get this story out now because I'm seeing MIW in a few hours and won't have time to do it later. Yes I'm bragging. Warning: Smut.

I couldn't understand why I was so nervous. We had temporary drummers before, although I got the strange vibe that this new person was going to be different. And I was right. Devin had waited until the last minute to introduce me to them and whenever I asked why, he brushed me off. Even Ryan, Balz and Rick refused to tell me. So, when I finally did meet them, I was beyond surprised. I waited on the tour bus, people hurriedly packing things outside since I already did my part. I was, of course, grateful for such a luxurious tour bus that had multiple gaming consoles, roomy beds and a proper bathroom, but I wasn't used to it compared to when everything started. Our tour bus used to just be a shitty bunk bed in he back of a van. We were three albums and an EP onto our careers and we had already taken off. I'd never get used to it. 'Chris,' I jumped slightly when I heard Devin call for me from the entrance. I stood up, apologising for not noticing him enter before feeling my knees lock up. My breathing hitched when I noticed a girl standing behind him, her lips curved into a small smile. 'This is (Y/n).' 'Oh, hi. I'm Chris, nice to meet you.' I greeted. A silence filled the room and I began to wonder if she had even heard me. A second passed before she tapped Devin's shoulder and began making small gestures with her hands. 'She says "it's nice to meet you, too". Why don't you go pick a bunk and I'll explain everything to him?' Devin offered, smiling slightly. She nodded, skipping past the two of us and heading over to where everybody else was laying. 'Why did you keep this from me?' I asked, crossing my arms. 'Because you're picky when it comes to drummers. She's fucking awesome but I knew that when you found out, you'd say no. Chris, she needs this. I've known her since elementary school and she's never done anything exciting. When I offered this to her, she was over the fucking roof.' Devin wasn't wrong, but I was still slightly annoyed. Of course, I decided not to make that a problem and just agreed with him before apologising. 'So, what's with her anyway?' I asked, looking back and noticing her down the hall unpacking her things on the bunk below Devin's. 'She has Elective Mutism.' 'English, please.' 'She doesn't talk. She had a traumatic experience as a kid and now she doesn't spill a word, not even to me. We weren't too close but...fuck man, I still remember the day she came to school and "told" me.' 'Oh, shit...' 'But don't worry, she's pretty strong. Even during the abuse, she'd come to school no matter how badly her dad messed her up. She deserves the opportunity.' For once in his life, Devin looked like he was genuinely begging me to be okay with it. I had no problems with it or her, but I just wanted him to tell me in the future. However, I said nothing of it and complied completely. 'Thank you, Chris. I promise, she's absolutely amazing.' 'I don't doubt it.'
