✾Ruby's pov
"So what do you say?", Sasha asked over the phone."Okay, you order the pizza. I'll bring the movies."
And with that I hung up. I changed into a denim skirt and a black off shoulder blouse with some grey converse. Then I stained my lips with some red matte gloss, grabbed my phone and proceeded to my wardrobe. I shoved my unicorn onesie, my sketch book, DVDs of Terminator and Mean Girls. Weird combo, right? Mean girls was Sasha's all time favorite movie and Terminator was mine. It didn't go hand in hand, but it was fun watching two different genres in one sitting.

"No, like I don't get it. So, in order to go back in time, John Connor must have been born, which can't happen unless he goes back in time. Right?"
"Sasha, you're close but, John Connor does not go back in time, Kyle Reese does. It seems paradoxical that John Connor would exist without having sent his dad back in time to impregnate his mom. Assuming only Kyle Reese could be his father, then someone other than John Connor must have sent him back.", I explained while stuffing my face with popcorn.
"What the actual fuck, Ruby?", She seemed so confused.
"Ugh. Forget it.", I said laughingly.
She played with her hair and then looked up at me from her phone.
"Hey, Chris is coming over. He'll get here by eight. Do you want to help me cook up something?"
"Yeah, sure. What are we making?", I said, sitting up straight.
"I was thinking something probably simple like pasta or chicken tikka masla."
I choked on my water when those words left her mouth.
"Look at you acting all house wifey and shit."
"Shut up.", She said, rolling her eyes.
-
"Can you hand drain the noodles, the chicken is almost ready.", Sasha said.
I gave her a weird look when she said "hand drain". Did she really expect me to pick up every noodle individually with my fingers? I nodded anyway and drained the noodles with the strainer. I poured the water down the drain, the noodles catching against the hole filled metal. I then put them in a large glass serving bowl before tying up my hair that was getting in my face. And that's when the doorbell rang. I heard Sasha open the door for Chris and him telling her how beautiful she looked and all that sappy romantic bullshit. I gave him a fake barbie doll smile with an awkward wave as he walked pass the kitchen to the living room followed by Sasha. She then later helped me finish setting up the table. I poured them a glass of wine. I was on my third but I wasn't going to tell anyone that cause, duh. Sasha gave me a look. She knew how many I had the second she saw how much was left in the bottle. The only empty seat was next to me which was very weird. This night couldn't get any more awkward and I refused to let it, and I was right for the next ten minutes until the front door slid open for the one person I knew would make me awkward as hell.
There he was. Walking in like nothing was new. Leather boots and dark jeans with a light blue knitted shirt rolled up all the way to his elbows with the top button undone. He locked eyes with me, but quickly looked away as he approached the table.
"Sorry I'm late.", He said casually as he sat down next to me.
Great.
This boy was just going to walk into my best friend's house and sit next to me after what was literally a month of not talking to me after what felt like using me for his photography projects? I swear to God, he had no idea what was coming to him. That's when I got a text from Sasha.
