✾Ruby's pov
Cole and I had promised to keep a casual friendship. And so far things were okay. We managed to have lunch together everyday and not make it weird. I was at his place so we could hangout or watch something on his new flat screen. I told him I wanted to watch 'Suit Life Of Zack & Cody.' He was not particularly fond of the idea and I felt him groan internally based on his facial expression, but he didn't disagree. So here I was laying on his bed in the same brown shirt from that night and some baggy jeans. I moved my hand over to take a huge handful of popcorn from the bowl that was resting on my tummy. He slapped my hand away, his eyes still glued to the TV. I pouted as half of what I had in my hand dropped back into the bowl. I heard him laugh."So you get to slap away popcorn right from my tiny hand just so you could eat it?". I asked.
He giggled before lifting up some of it to my mouth, pressing it against my skin. I couldn't help but laugh as popcorn fell around me.
"You are so gross.", I squealed.
We both got quiet as Cody, the character Cole played came on screen in a dress, wearing lipstick. I howled in laughter. I instantly looked up at him, with watery eyes due to all the laughing and wheezing. He rolled his eyes, before pushing me gently.
"Shut up, Ruby."
"That dress looks absolutely beautiful on you.", I laughed before resting my head on his bare shoulder.
"But that lipstick does not go with your skin tone."
He snorted before sliding his arm around me. I laughed at all the small comments he made on the show.
"You are enjoying this way too much.", Cole mumbled, resting his cheek against the top of my head.
I was well aware of how much popcorn was underneath me. I could feel each and every one of them against my side. But it didn't mean much. I was just happy sitting here watching this ridiculous show with Cole by my side.
"I can see why it was so popular that you guys got a sequel.", I said as I saw a young Ashley Tisdale appear on screen and kiss Cody. I looked back at him and said,
"Why do I feel like that was your first kiss?"
"It was.", He laughed before shoving a handful of popcorn in his mouth.
"She's still a better kisser than you.", He said.
And at that I pouted and covered my face with my hands.
"I actually had a fear that you weren't talking to me because I was that bad.", I mumbled under my hands.
He removed my hands from my face and sincerely said,
"If you think I haven't thought about making this bed even more dirtier in the last two hours, darling, you are so wrong.", He said, winking at me.
I rolled my eyes burying my red tomato face in his shoulder.
"Cole. We're friends. Just friends. Stop it."
He laughed gently before pulling my hair back. He went to peck my lips, but instead of his lips meeting mine, I pressed popcorn against his face, letting it scatter on the bed.
"Now we're even. And no kissing, you prick."
We were joking around when there was a knock on the front door. He got up and walked downstairs and I followed him. I was standing at the stairs as he opened the door, paying the pizza delivery guy. I was leaning against the wall, playing with the loose strands of my hair. He closed the door behind the guy and stood there with our drinks and the pizza box. He had a large, evil grin on his face.
What is he up to?
I walked towards him, a smile forming at the corner of my lips. I went to take the box from him but he held it over my head so I couldn't reach it.
"Earn it.", He smirked before jokingly puckering up his lips.
Fuck it.
And with that I did the one thing he didn't see coming. I gently grabbed his face, stood on my toes and kissed him, letting it linger on. He was so shocked that he slowly started lowering the pizza box. And that's when I broke us apart and took the box from him and ran up the stairs. He ran after me and jumped on the bed pulling me with him, the box still in my hand.
"Stand up.", I gestured to him.
He did as I said and I swept off the popcorn that was on his bed. He helped by tucking the bedsheet under the mattress properly. We then both grabbed our food and sat down, the show was still playing. I handed him a slice and a plate before crawling up next to him.
Ruby, that kiss was not a good idea.
I knew what was going on in his head as he glanced over his shoulder to look at me.

✾Cole's pov
She was getting to me more than usual. Everything is alright when we're out in public, but right now, she's in my room, in my bed, stuffing her face with pizza and diet coke. This was a whole different level. Most guys would find girls in skin tight dresses with heels and perfect hair attractive but I didn't. I found her attractive. She looked so comfortable and carefree. Any girl willing to sit with you in her pajamas and eat like this isn't afraid of most things and that is sexy. This is what it's supposed to be like. Staying at home, having lazy days and watching TV shows that I refuse to admit I was in, because let's face it, the best thing to do with these DVDs is to burn them, put the remains in an air shuttle and send them off to space. But she had insisted and I wasn't going to deprive her the pleasure of making fun of me. Her face shone a little more brightly with ever insult she threw at me. I could sit here like this, in my small room, with her laying beside me, listening to her make fun of me forever.
