✾Ruby's pov

Sasha and I were getting ready at her place to go to the annual firework night at our school. I decided on wearing a black Led Zeppelin crop top with fishnets under black ripped skinny jeans plus my biker boots. I didn't bother with too much makeup, just some winged liner and peach lip balm with my hair in it's natural straight form. I was in the kitchen pouring myself some diet coke, waiting for Sasha to come downstairs. After ten minutes of me whining she finally did.

"Is Cole coming to pick you up?"

"No, he said he'll meet me there. I'll have to third wheel with you and Chris, if that's okay."

"Yeah, of course."

Sasha was touching up her lipstick in the mirror adjacent to the front door while I stood next to her, playing angry birds on my phone. And that's when we heard Chris's car honk outside. I let myself out as Sasha locked the door. Chris waved at us as we made our way over to his car. Sasha got in the passenger seat while I got comfy in the backseat. The drive was very fucking awkward. They were getting all lovey dovey and I had to pretend there was something interesting playing on my phone screen the entire time. But after what felt like ages, we finally made it. I was getting out of the car when this biker dude slowed down and parked next to us. I couldn't tell who it was cause he was wearing this heavy, black helmet. I closed the car door shut and just as I was about to join Sasha and Chris, the guy on the bike gently grabbed my wrist. I turned around to snatch my hand away from him but immediately stopped when he took off his helmet.

"What's cooking, good looking?"

"Oh my God, Cole. What the hell? When do you ride bikes?"

"Oh, I've had this baby for a long time now. It was in the workshop. But now it's good as new."

I just stared at him. He then pulled me closer to him and hugged me. I breathed in his chocolate musk and closed my eyes.

"You look good.", I muffled against his shirt.

He was wearing his signature black leather jacket with the collar popped up. Underneath was a coffee cream colored shirt with some black jeans and sneakers.

"You look even better, babydoll.", he whispered.

The sky was filled with beautiful colors of red and orange that went hand in hand together. It was all so fascinating. Cole and I were cuddled up together on the grass with everyone else, just looking at the pretty lights dance together and fade away in bright colors. Throughout Cole was tracing small circles on my shoulder. I felt his heartbeat against my own. I couldn't help but stare at how his pupils dilated at the sight of the fireworks.

After the fireworks, we were all dancing out on the football field with the big speakers blasting. I tried convincing Cole to dance with me, but he was being so grumpy.

"Oh, come on. Please?"

"Ruby, I don't dance."

I gave him my cutest puppy dog eyes and felt him reconsider. And that's when he pulled me, causing me to sit on his lap. He got close and whispered,

"You are so paying for this later."

My cheeks got all red and warm. But I gathered all my confidence and stood up, pulling him with me.

"We'll see about that."

We've come too far to give up who we are.
So let's raise the bar and our cups to the stars.
She's up all night till the sun.
I'm up all night to get some.
She's up all night for good fun.
