✾Ruby's pov
School was over and Cole and I were driving to his house. Apparently he had something special to show me. I wonder what it was. All through the ride he had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eyes. We arrived at his place a few moments later. Dylan was out sitting on in the lawn, listening to some music. As soon as he saw me he got up and gave me one of his famous bear hugs."Has my brother been torturing you?", He laughed.
"No no. Quite the opposite really."
-
After a little chit chat with Dylan, Cole pulled me up to his room. He closed the door behind us and handed me a heavy box. My hands were practically shaking when I carefully and slowly lifted the cover. I gasped when I saw a little baby plant.
"Oh my God.", I say, looking up at Cole who was brightly smiling.
"Is this what you wanted to show me?", I ask and he nods. I go to the bed and sit at the opposite side of him.
"I can't believe it.", He said.
"Can't believe what?"
"That the seed we planted would actually grew into a little plant. I was actually starting to loose hope."
I couldn't help but smile at Cole's reaction. He's been so caring and gentle ever since that plant was a seed.
"Aww, look at you.", I giggled.
He quickly changed his facial expression and said,
"Not that I care. Just a plant.", He says, running his fingers through his hair once more.
There he goes again with the bad boy act.
"I wonder when you're actually going to show your soft side to people and make them like you."
"I don't want them to like me.", He laughed.
"No, it's like you act so mean and tough around everybody. They're actually afraid to even talk to you.", I said.
And at that, he got more closer to me and said.
"I am mean and tough. I'm just soft for you.", He mumbled.
"I don't care about anyone else. The things people say or think about me don't really matter much. Even if they accuse me of being gay, I wouldn't care. Cause I know I'm not. And that's enough.", He explained.
Oh wow. I actually heard this one around campus. Maybe this rumor got to him. I decided to play with him a little with this.
"You know, I actually thought you were gay for quiet some time."
His eyes suddenly widened. I tried my best to hold in a laugh.
"Are you serious?"
I nodded.
"Everyone thought you were at some point."
"Oh yeah?", His tone was obvious that he was annoyed.
"Please elaborate. Tell me what aspects of me scream I'm gay?"
I can't believe he's actually falling for this shit.
"Well, it's just you, you know. Overall."
Without saying anything, he moved the potted baby plant aside so there wasn't any space between us.
"Ruby, do you really think I'm gay?", He asked and slowly moved closer to me.
I tried to keep my composure and said,
"Yes. I do."
He chuckled and scooted more closer to me, his hands were both at each of my side. He had me completely cornered.
"Do you want me to prove to you that I'm not gay, sweetheart?"
I was stunned. I couldn't bring myself to move or even speak. But I gathered all my confidence and said,
"Bring it, fag."
He raised his eyebrow at that, a smile forming on his lips.
"Oh, we have ourselves a soldier babe.", He whispered.
He leaned in a little more. Our lips were brushing against each other. I could feel my insides twist and turn. I hated it when he did these things to me. He made me feel so weak and vulnerable. His eyes looked at my lips one more time before the door opened.
"Hey, I ordered piz- Oh good Lord.", Dylan said.
Cole immediately jumped to the other side of the bed. I was still stunned so I remained frozen on my spot.
"Fuck you, Dylan. Don't you know how to knock?"
Dylan continued laughing.
"Maybe you guys should learn to lock your door."
