XXXI. Hickeys

It was almost funny watching her try to wobble down the stairs, knowing that I had done that. I honestly thought I wasn't capable of doing that to a girl to that standard. I might have left her a mess but she left me just as equally searing. I slid my hand over my neck, not sure how I was going to hide the few hickeys that stained my skin. Although, it was autumn. Scarves maybe? Scarves are stupid though. And with that I tried not to think about it too much.

We were outside waiting for the taxi. I was standing behind her, both of us in heavy leather jackets on and my arm around her shoulder. It was quite fun getting trapped in a taxi with her, enduring the street traffic and the cold weather with the faint radio playing in the background. We had been standing outside for ten minutes before one started to pass us. I called out to the driver and gently put my hand over the small of my neck, trying to act natural.

I slid my arm behind her along the top edge of the seat. She gently rested her head against my shoulder before slowly looking up at me. I could feel her watching me as I looked outside the window at all the passing town houses, but that's when I felt it. Her fingers tugging at the zip of my jacket. I raised my eyebrow as she touched the marks on my neck. She knew I was trying to hide them.

"Cole, I want people to see it.", she whispered before leaning up and and softly touching my exposed skin with her lips.

"You're mine now and I want the whole world to know."

She then turned back to her previous position. I pushed my fingers through her hair, pushing it away from her face as I kissed her forehead.

She truly was something.
