✾Cole's pov
"So apparently my mum's okay with me moving out, she's actually really supportive.", Ruby said.I looked over to her from my cereal bowl. She was sitting across me eating an orange. She was wearing one of my shirts and had her hair in two bear buns. She had stuck one of the slices against her teeth, letting the corners rest inside her cheeks as she gave me a cute, awkward little smile. Her eyes shined with the want of pure laughter. I chuckled softly as I put down my spoon. She was so unaware of how adorable she was. All innocent and sweet. Clean from all the toxic bullshit of this world. I just wanted to keep her this way, keep her safe.
"It's not much, but it would be nice to have a roommate or something. Just for not alone at night purposes. Dylan is mostly out with his late night football practices.", I said shrugging.
I stood up from the table, pushing my fingers into my hair as I set the dirty bowl down into the sink. I turned to face her, leaning back to the counter as she just say there eating her orange. One part of me wanted to ask her to move in with me. And one part thought that was such an awful idea, that it might be too fast. But she already practically lived here, but I didn't know where the line between us was at the moment. And where we actually stood.
"You know, Cole, there's a room empty next to Dylan's room upstairs.", She said, pulling her legs under her small seat, smiling idiotically as she looked at me.
Did she just really ask to move in with me?
She had said it so calmly and subtly, like she hadn't been thinking about it all, and it didn't seem like a bad option honestly. I didn't see why she couldn't take the room next to Dylan's. She would get her own space and everything. And she wouldn't feel the constant pressure of our relationship because we wouldn't be sharing rooms. It kind of made sense.
"It's not a bad idea. I think it's actually smart. We could make a whole day out of it, like moving you in and stuff.", I said casually as she got up to throw the orange seeds away.
"I'm enjoying the idea of you moving in too much.", I said.
She then walked towards me. My shirt hung against her thighs as she slid her arms around me, looking up at me with a soft smile. Her delicate little chin rested against my chest.
"It'll be fun.", She whispered.
"But I'm making you sleep in your own bed."
I jokingly frowned as she gave me a little peck on my lips.
