✾Ruby's pov
This is it.
This is perfection. This is what it felt like, but it sure as hell wouldn't last. We would most probably stop talking and I was right. It had been almost one month. He rarely showed up in class and when he did, he was late. But, he was there enough for me to continue my drawing of him, but it stopped meaning anything to me a week after we stopped talking. I still kept it though. It stayed in my room on my desk in the corner. I looked at it almost everyday when I did my homework. I didn't have any words for it. It just sat there.
I walked out of my room almost everyday to see Sasha sitting out on the couch eating something obnoxiously messy. She was around more often nowadays. She just stared at me. I believed she had shoved my couch full of popcorn and cheetos out of spite. We still hadn't talked about what happened between me and Cole that night. Everything had gotten quite. Sasha had been going out on a lot of dates with this guy from her class. I didn't like him for some reason. I just got this weird vibe from him that sent chills down my spine. But, she was happy with him and I wasn't going to drag her away from him just for my own comfort. I spent most days doing homework, painting and binge watching episodes of New Girl on Netflix. I had started a proper painting two weeks prior. The campus newspaper had released the new art exhibit. It was photographs of students around campus. Of course, Cole was in it. How could he not be? He was made for this. He was made to live in front of and behind a camera. I had started the sketch of him sitting in that same vintage, wooden rocking chair on which now my clothes hung. The same clothes I wore on the day we officially stopped talking. I hadn't touched the sketch in almost a week and a half.
I felt empty from the lack of inspiration.
I walked out of my room in my sweats, my dark hair pulled up against the top of my head in a bun. I rubbed my eyes as I entered the kitchen, yawning even though it was almost noon. It had been a long night. I stayed up studying for a biology test.
It was like I was caught in slow motion.
It was all so dull.✾✾✾
