"woah you guys look fancy," rush stared at us as we walked back in the dorm.

"okay i have two things. one you were with us this morning so you should know and two why are you still here?" hayden questioned.

"first my question. how was dinner?"

"good," hayden and i both said in agreement.

"second order of business," rush began. "shaboo ya, ya ya shaboo ya roll call"

but he was cut off by the door opening.

"roll call brennan." he said in awe.

...

"annie can i speak to you in the hallway please, that's all i want from you and then i will leave you alone." brennan said, his face soft and genuine.

"hayden, do you allow it?" i asked turning to him.

his face was flustered as if it was painted red.

"yeah," he muttered. "whatever gets him to leave you alone."

"after you," brennan said opening the door once again for me.

...

"what do you want to talk about?" i asked brennan.

"look you know i still love you okay i'm just jealous."

"i know brennan, but you hurt me. you called me a terrible person. you said hayden could do better than me."

"it's all because i want you back, anns,"

"... but i know that's not going to happen again."

"i certainly don't want it to happen again. i think we can both agree that we each made mistakes." i said reassuring him.

"yeah, we were just kids." he continued. "i'm sorry i sort of ruined your friendship with my sister."

i couldn't speak.

i opened my mouth, but the words could not flow correctly.

he started to speak again.

"i told her that you caused our breakup. that's why you guys got distant..."

"... she couldn't stand to see me upset like that,"

"it's okay." i responded. "hey brennan, can i ask you something?"

"sure anns, anything"

"do you think hayden and i are good together, like we will last?"

"i certainly know he loves you. he took a door in the forehead for you," he said warmly. "but the future, who knows what that has in store for all of us."

"friends?" i asked him.

"i'll always be like a brother to you annie."

"i'll go now. text me tomorrow, okay?"

"okay brennan." i said softer than a whisper.

"bye annie," he spoke looking back as he walked away.

i grabbed the handle to the door, twisted it open, and walked back inside.

my mascara was smudged and my eyes were watering.

"annie are you okay?" hayden asked me.

"yeah it just got a little emotional back there."

"as long as you're okay." rush chimed in.

well i wrote some of this last night and i can't remember if i wanted to write more, so i thought i'd put this out for you guys.

i love you guys so much! I've been thanking you in my conversations i post messages but thank you guys so much for reading, commenting, and voting.

also thanks to the comment spammers, you know who you are hahaha.
