"just tryna be in this, tell me are you too"
•third person
annie arrived at the restaurant with harvey, meanwhile hayden was moping around on his bed watching hannie edits.
a harnie edit popped up on his phone, and his face fell puzzled.
"skip," he said fake barfing.
"oh cheer up young boy" rush told him.
"yeah hayden," kacy agreed as well.
"how can i cheer up when the girl i'm in love with is on a 'date' with another man?" hayden scoffed.
rush smiled to himself.
"shaboo ya," rush began.
"ya ya shaboo ya," kacy continued the chain.
"i swear if you say roll call hayden i'm leaving this apartment right now."
rush stood up, went to the door, and locked it.
he stood in front of it, blocking the path to exit.
rush grinned sneakily and spoke, "roll call."
...
"thank you for taking me here," annie told harvey while looking at her surroundings.
"no problem annie, you deserve the best for touring me around."
she nodded, smiling.
taking her time, she unfolded the napkin and placed it on her lap.
her gaze dropped and she looked down, fidgeting with her hands.
"your smile faded," harvey began. "are you okay? is something wrong?"
she smiled again, and said, "i'm perfect. thank you for asking,"
when she knew she wasn't perfect.
she'd rather be on a date with hayden, but she doesn't know harvey that well.
she does not want something to develop, but is scared it will.
then she will have to make a decision.
her face was hot and wet, but she wiped it with the napkin.
the waiter came over, took their orders, and now they were alone again.
"so tell me about yourself, other than the obvious..." harvey said to her.
she hesitated, and was debating about mentioning caleb.
their one secret they managed to hide from the media for many years.
she opened her mouth to speak, and said, "i don't have anything interesting."
he brushed her hand with his slightly. "i will go first then, how about that?"
she gulped, "yes of course."
"so i have a sister.." harvey started to speak, going on and on telling annie his entire life story.
she kept nodding her head, trying to listen, but all she could think about was hayden and if he was upset with her.
what? was she going to say no to harvey? no.
she practically had to say yes. i mean, she is touring him around. it'd be rude to say no.
...
they had finished their food, the night ended and he paid for dinner.
"you know you didn't have to pay, right?"
"well i did, sorry you were too slow." he said catching her eyes.
she looked into his, and annie could not break the gaze.
it made her nervous, but really when does eye contact not make a person nervous.
annie looked away and at the ground beneath them.
she bit her lip and regained the gaze with him.
"yeah i guess,"
"you don't seem very interested in this date." harvey's eyes trembled and could not maintain eye contact.
"i was not aware that this was a date, and you know i have a boyfriend"
he grabbed her hand as started to lean in.
"harvey stop, seriously you know i have a boyfriend."
"i'm sorry."
...
they both went back to the apartment and went to sleep.
