did you ever think to wonder how hayley reacted when annie left for college?

well let's just show you.

four years earlier

"annie please don't go," hayley cried, tugging on annie's arm.

"hayley i don't want to leave you, but i have to continue my education and my career. i need to pursue something, and soon we will be together again. i promise you,"

hayley sniffled and annie looked at the ground, shedding a small tear.

she looked at everyone's upset looks and faces. "i'm really going to miss you all. we are so close, but i'm going to be singing and god knows what college will bring me. our home is so close to campus, but i may not get a lot of time to visit."

"i'm older now, i'll come visit you all the time!" hayley squealed.

"hayley... you're only fourteen. you can't drive yet."

"i know but— mom will bring me," she turned to katie and she nodded, smiling with content.

annie thought of this scene over and over, her eyes beginning to water.

her family had only visited once or twice since she left for college. and now graduated, she still hasn't visited them.

hayley was eighteen now, and annie could only shut her eyes and begin to imagine what she's going through.

hayden approached her from behind and placed his hands on her shoulders.

"hey anns."

"hey hayden." she began, deep in thought.

"is something wrong?" hayden questioned.

"do you ever wonder how hayley is doing?"

"all the time. all i really know is that since we all graduated, carson has been watching over her like an older brother."

"do you ever wish you had that bond with her?" annie reciprocated, turning to look in his eyes.

he broke the gaze. "of course i do. i really wish we could just visit them, but we are so busy with tour,"

annie looked down, thinking about what they could possibly do, until an idea hit her. she hit her hand to his chest. "oh my gosh, hayden! i got an idea!"

"annie what is it?" he asked looking down upon her.

"we could perform with jacob, luna, and zach and UCLA for the current students and invite alums!"

"how would that involve hayley?"

"well we would invite carson as an alum... and i think hayley goes to UCLA now."

"annie that's brilliant,"

...

a week later, they were set to preform in the auditorium.

annie paced back and forth backstage.

"i'll. wait." she sang choppily.

"STOP annie, annie you're pacing honey," christine screamed.

"i know, i'm just really nervous i hope hayley will come." annie stopped.
