ZACHARY

I was awakened by the raucous sound coming from my alarm clock. I instantaneously turned on the lamp beside my bed as I checked the time with a blurry vision.

Two am.

I exhaled. I couldn't tell if I really slept or not. Maybe yes, maybe not.

I began to think. Maybe my brain is conditioned to feel this anxiety, tension, butterflies and cold sweat rolled in to fucking one. Associating the sound with having to wake up.

Who would have fell into a deep sleep if you're going to marry the love of your life within just fucking three hours? Good heaven, I think I'm having a heart attack as the clock ticks down.

I jumped out of the bed as I grabbed my black leather jacket hanging on the couch and fleetly went down the restaurant to eat my breakfast at this early hour.

Wearing only a white plane vneck shirt and a checkered flannel short plus a leather jacket, I still felt the cold breeze coming from the air condition as it brushed against my skin.

I swiftly scanned the menu looking for a light breakfast only, because I'm sure I'll be having a heavy one together with my parents before we leave this hotel.

It's important to set myself up for this day. The noise of my stomach rumbling isn't something that I, my bride, and our wedding guests would expect at the altar.

"One blue berry pancakes and one cappuccino, please." I said as I closed the menu and gave it back to the waiter.

"Right away, Sir." said the waiter as he turned his back on me.

I crossed my legs as well as my arms looking so fucking uptight. I wonder if my baby's also awake right now. Did she sleep well? O kinakabahan din kagaya ko? Nagreready na kaya siya?

It's still early, dude!

I sighed. I do miss my baby. It's been freaking three days since the last time I saw her. Mom said we shouldn't see each other for three days dahil baka hindi daw matuloy ang kasal. Maging ang pagtetext o tawag ay bawal.

Seriously? Where did it come from? At sinong nagpauso no'n?

But then, I still followed it. Wala namang mawawala kung susunod ako. Matutuloy ang kasal namin kahit anong mangyari. Everything's all set and ready to fire. I would probably raise hell if that won't happen.

Lissie said we should be officially husband and wife when the sun goes up. Simbolo daw ng bagong buhay at kapalaran namin bilang magasawa. That's too dramatic, I know. But I have no say about that specially that she's pregnant. I could not oppose her. Not now that she's been moody and gloomy these past few weeks.

"Here's your breakfast, Sir." said the waiter as he served me the food. "Enjoy." he added before he made his way out.

I silently ate my food while my mind's occupied about the upcoming wedding. Dad said it's much better if they will just stay there a day before the wedding so they can relax and have their beauty rest.

Kami lang ni Lissie ang nandito sa Manila together with some of our closest friends.
