I miss being heartbroken
As strange as it sounds
I used to have hope and
Now I only see clouds
I miss the feeling of my heart beating
Louder than church bells
When she was near, when I was seeking
What I didn't ever tell
I miss those confusing signals
That made my heart flutter
That made my hands tingle
Made my legs turn to butter
I used to think there was a chance
My yearning would finally end
That I would dance love's dance
On a night without end
She was a beacon of light
In a love life of darkness
She reeled me in like a kite
Fixed on a harness
Whether she really did mean
To grab my attention
I can only live out in dreams
Which I never will mention
Now I live only by night
I live only for the day
That day's out of sight
If it will ever come, I can't say
In pitch black now
I miss that silvery light
It has faded away, away, away, away, away, away, away...
