Seven - Secrets
For the rest of the weekend I had successfully avoided Harry, I hadn't talked to him and wasn't planning on doing that for quite a while. It might sound cruel, but I want him to suffer, to feel what it feels like to be crushed when you have done nothing.
Another good thing was that I got by beautiful car back, I couldn't live without my baby, so getting it back was a bless.
I was currently on the way to work, there wasn't much traffic on the road, that was a surprise, but I was happy the ride to work didn't take that long.
"Hi Zoe!" I great the girl happy as I sit down at my desk. I had promised myself I would try to be nice to people whom I just met. They don't know my past, so it's a fresh start and I could use some friends, especially with the whole Harry situation.
If I make friends I can show him I'm not like those Ravens he talks about and that I care for people. Because I really do, I do care for people, I can be nice. I just chose not show it, so people can't take advantage of me anymore. Or that they won't assume that I'm only nice because I want something.
But this isn't high school anymore and people are different, more mature. They're not some dumb teenagers or some boneheads who get high to class and are drunk the whole time.
Well, at least these people, they are older than me and have more life experience, they won't immediately assume that I'm some slut right? They will understand that I'm not the one to blame, well at least I know Zoe won't.
"Shit!" I hear someone mutter under their breath. I frown and look at Zoe who was looking somewhere on the ground.
"Where is this bloody pen?"
Just as I want to point it out, she sees it too and then does something suprising. She lifts up the pen and makes it float towards her hand. She closes her hand around it. My eyes widden and a small gasp escapes my mouth.
I thought we weren't allowed to use our powers during work?
"Oh my god Avery, please don't tell anyone," Zoe begs me whispering. I close my eyes and take in a breathe, I should report this. But then again, I should on to the promise I made to myself, making friends.
I smile and wave it away.
"I won't, it's our little secret," I reassure her.
"We're friends right?"
A bright smile forms on Zoe's face.
"Yes, we are." she says excited. I succeeded, I made a new friend, and this time, I wasn't gonna let her slip away.

"God, I'm famished," I complain as we sit down in the lunching room.
"Same," Tanya replies and quickly starts eating her lunch.
"I can see, Tan, don't inhale your salad," Zoe chuckles. Tanya just blushes and keeps eating.
"So, how's everything going? You know, with Lucas?" Zoe asks. I swallow and look away.
"Did you guys break up? Please say you didn't," Tanya begs.
"Things are just a bit complicated, he's a bit mad with me, just because Harry drove me home once. He's quite the jealous type," I explain feeling unease, I didn't exactly like talking about my relationship with Lucas.
"Don't worry, it'll be alright. He just needs to realize that he doesn't have a reason to be jealous or rude to you," Zoe reassures me with a smile.
