I have to admit, Harry looked cute squeezing his eyes while laughing.
What?
I have a boyfriend.
Yeah an abusive one.
Since when do I hear voices in my head?
Probably since you started turning into a madwoman you nitwit.
I mentally scold the voice in my head and focus on my area. I had to make sure nobody was following me again.
"Is this the place?" Zoe's voice startles me.
"Uh yeah," I stutter.
"Avery, you don't have to worry, we're here to protect you," Alfie smiles. I nod absentmindedly and follow them into the place. It doesn't take long for us to get a table and order our food.
"So, Avery, you're an editor just like Zoe right?" Marcus asks me.
"Uh yeah."
"How do you like the job?"
"It's alright, I make a good amount of money."
When suddenly a man with a black hoodie walks in my eyes widen I stiffen an feel my heartbeat raise.
"Avery, are you okay?" I hear Harry ask me, but all I'm focused on is the man. When he turns around I recognize him immediately.
Lucas.
"Shit." I whisper en look down at my lap.
"Oh god, it's Lucas isn't it?" Harry whispers.
"Uh yeah, I don't think he'll be happy to see me here," I say quietly, still not making eye contact with anyone.
"Well, he saw you and he's walking over to here."
"Avery, what the fuck are you doing here with these people?" I hear his voice. I sigh and look up to see my boyfriend.
"They asked me to go out for lunch," I say quietly.
"Are you Lucas?" Zoe asks.
"Yes, I am," Lucas responds rudely.
"Well, you don't have to worry, we're all just friends. Alfie is my boyfriend and Marcus Niomi's, so you don't have to worry that someone's gonna steal Avery away from you," Zoe says with a polite smile, I just hope Lucas would listen to her.
"Harry doesn't have a girlfriend. I've seen him before, I bet he would try to steal Avery away from me."
"Mate, I'm not gonna steal your girlfriend away from you, I'm not that type of guy, now please go or come sit with us and behave, you're making a scene."
"Then let's take this outside," Lucas growls.
"Lucas, stop!" I say and look at him with narrowed eyes.
"No, you stop Avery! You're trying to replace me, aren't you? Well, congratulations, you did it," he says and walks away.
"Lucas, no!" I say and get out of my seat to run after him.
"Please Lucas!" I yell at him when we get outside.
"What do you want Avery? I do everything for you and then you just go out with him?" he shouts.
"It's just a friendly lunch!"
"It doesn't look like that! I've seen the way he looks at you!"
"I don't love him, Lucas, I love you! I always have and I always will!"
"No, you won't. Eventually you'll leave me for him. You'll get sick of me and throw me away like a piece of trash because you saw something better, like you always do."
"That's enough!" I shout. "I'm sick of dealing with your insecurities! If you love me you'll stop behaving like this. I'm not the unfaithful whore you think I am. I'm loyal, always have been and always will be. If I wanted to leave you I would already have done it. Don't think I don't love you because I do. Now if you willl excuse me, I'm gonna have lunch with my friends."
After my little speech, I turn around and walk back into the restaurant.
"I'm so sorry for that," I say as I sit back down.
"It's alright, you can't help it that your boyfriend is a complete dick," Niomi answers.
"Why are you even with that guy?" Marcus asks.
"You wouldn't understand," I sigh.

"He really is a prick Avery," Harry says as we walk towards the lobby.
"God, Harry can you just fucking stop? I love him okay? I'm not just gonna give up on him," I tell him.
"Avery, you need to do what's best for you," Harry tells me and pushes the button for the lift.
"I am."
"You're not, he's being an ass to not only you but also everyone else around. You barely have friends and I bet it's because of him."
"Stop talking about him like that," I frown and step in the lift.
"I am your friend and I dislike him. Friends are meant to be honest to each other."
"We are not friends," I say trough gritted teeth.
"Oh yes we are, I don't care if you like it or not, we are friends and I'm not gonna kiss his ass just because he's your freaking boyfriend. I don't give a flying fuck about him and I'm just making that clear."
"Okay, I fucking get it, give me a break," I grumble and get out of the lift.
"Avery, please don't be mad," Harry sighs.
"Just leave me alone for a bit, Harry," I sigh.
"Just think about it okay?"
"I know Lucas can be a jackass, but I've been with him for years, you need to understand that I can't just leave him. He needs to screw up big time in order for me to leave him."
"Okay, okay, but you can't expect me to like him."
"Yes, I know, Harry," I sigh. "Just, leave me be, I'm tired."
"Okay, I'll see you later," he says and walks over to me. I frown when he wraps his arms around me. I just stand there in shock not hugging him back.
"What the fuck are you doing with my girlfriend?" I hear a voice
Oh shit.
HARRY'S POV:
"What the fuck are you doing with my girlfriend?"
Great, fucking Lucas is here to ruin the moment, asshole. I sigh and let go of Avery.
"Hugging her, that's what friends do," I say crossing my arms.
"What if told you that you can't hug my girlfriend?" Lucas says.
"What if I told you that I don't give a flying fuck?" I fire back.
"I don't want you flirting with my girlfriend okay?" Lucas says and walks over to me. "So I suggest you leave her alone."
"We live in the same building, I'm still gonna see her and we work together idiot. So leaving her alone won't be an option."
"If you don't listen to me I'll beat the shit out of you understand me?" Lucas growls and grabs my collar, not that I was intimidated.
"Get the fuck off me," I growl and push Lucas away.
"I've taken out bigger guys than you, I'm not scared, douchepants."
"THAT'S ENOUGH!" Avery shouts before Lucas wants to attack me.
"Both of you leave me alone! I'm sick and tired of you two fighting over me!" she shouts and storms into her apartment.
Well, I sure fucked things up.
