Dedicated to overdosive

Riley is amazing.

She's so cute and hyper and adorable and friendly and she talks non stop.

"Do you like brownies? I like brownies, can you make me brownies?" She asks excitedly, her large green eyes, the same shade as her brother's wide with excitement.

I smile and ruffle her chocolate brown curls, "I'm sure I can follow a recipe sweetie" I turn to Cole who's watching us, an amused expression on his face, "if that's okay with you?"

He nods and heads to the kitchen to start bringing out ingredients. Once he's done, he turns to Riley, lifts her and sets her on the counter, "guess what pumpkin, we're making brownies!"

She squeals in excitement and throws her arms around him causing him to chuckle. They are absolutely adorable.

I've never made brownies before so when I place them in the oven, I'm praying that they come out nice, at least edible.

Afterwards, we watch a movie, correction: Riley and I watch a movie, Cole sleeps through the whole thing. Can't blame him though, which boy willingly watches Barbie and the pink shoes?

Once the brownies are done and cool, I take a tentative bite. I smile as I chew, they taste amazing, probably because I added a lot of, well everything.

Then Cole and I make a mistake.

We let Riley have some.

"Catch me" she squeals as she runs around the house, Cole and I chasing her.

You know when your cute toddler sibling is running and you're barely walking, pretending to chase him/her?

Yeah this isn't that time.

I swear Riley should run in the Olympics when she's older.

Cole lungs for her and manages to catch her in his arms. She squirms in his embrace, giggling hysterically and I can't help but giggle at the sight.

"Okay pumpkin" he says, "how about another movie?"

"Barbie!"

Cole groans and we end up watching Barbie, the princess and the popstar.

Ten minutes into the movie, Riley passes out on Cole and he takes her upstairs to her room.

When he comes back, he sits on the armrest, next to me and asks, "so what'd you think?"

I shrug, "I think its a rip off from the princess and the pauper" I say referring to the movie.

He rolls his eyes, and pauses the movie, "not that, Riley"

I knew that.

"She's amazing" I tell him smiling.

He scratches the back of his neck nervously, "did she make up for Ryan?"

I laugh escapes my lips and I'm surprised at my honest answer.

"Yes, she did"

"So we have to come up with a theme for the winter formal" I say, flipping to the next thing on today's agenda.

Its Monday, the day we have student council meetings.

The student council is made up of me, the president, David Kendall, my vice president, Tess Mitchell, the secretary, Wendy Mandrel, treasurer,  Derek Harrison, SRO (student relation officer) and all the class presidents.

The student council is actually really cool, we come up with new ideas all the time that the students love and we act as a bridge between the students and the school. Plus it comes with popularity. Everybody loves us.

"We can make it a Sadie Hawkins dance" Wendy suggests. I shake my head, "we did that last year, remember?"

"How about a throwback theme, like 80's or something" Derek pipes in. Tess scrunches up her nose, "no thank you, we learn enough old people stuff from history and our parent's 'back in the day'

We all laugh at that.

"It can be a costume party", David adds.

"Too halloweeny, most people will just repeat costumes from which ever party is held this year"

We all think hard then Tess smiles, "what if we class it up a bit"

We all look at her, confused, "we can do olden days but like black and white, no stupid outfits and instead of costumes just masks"

I smile at the idea and from the looks on everyone else's face they do too"

I high five my bestie for the brilliant idea and she grins proudly.

"A black and white masquerade ball" I announce and there's a murmur of agreement, its unanimous.

After we work out all the details, we close the meeting and head our separate ways.

Its short its short I know, its more of a filler.

Next chapter however, is one of my favourites!

Question: Which Barbie movie is your favourite?
