Between the 2

Standing at the foot of the practice room door with a gift box in my hand, I stared cautiously at him as he fooled around with his backup dancers.

"Aw Jay, stop it!" One of the backup dancer girls giggled. A burning sensation took over me when I saw how intimate they were in that moment. I have been liking Jay ever since I started working in AOMG but never had the courage to confess because he was nice and friendly with everyone except for me.

He would scoff whenever he walked pass me, embarrass me in front of the company any chance he gets and gives me a hell of tasks just so I would get home later than office hours.

After standing for about 30minutes at the foot of the door, everyone including Jay was finally dismissed from the dance practice. Jay was the last person to leave the room so fortunately, I could catch him alone. I did.

"Urm, Jay," I called out to him before he could leave.

"What?" He clicked his tongue.

"I got you this," I cautiously handed him the gift box. Inside contained the crystal globe that he eyed when the company went for a retreat to Australia.

He hastily took the box and walked away without saying anything. Next thing I heard, what seemed like a glass shattering. Nervous, I ran to where the sound came from and saw the globe in pieces on the floor. Jay was standing by it, staring at it without a guilt planted on his face.

I walked towards the shattered pieces and picked them up piece by piece. The pieces defined my heart at the moment. Broken, shattered, you name it.

"Don't give me ugly gifts like that. I don't appreciate it."

"And I don't appreciate you either. So cut the crap," he continued and walked away.

Ever since that whole incident with Jay, I sworn to stay away from him and kept everything strictly business. I only approached him when it's work-related and never made any eye contact unless necessary.

A few months have passed and I dare not say I've lost feelings for him because my stomach still churns whenever he's in the same room as I am. He still gives me the chills without even touching or looking at me.

"Guys, I would like to introduce to you guys a new addition to the team. This is Taehyung, our new backup dancer in replacement of Hoseok," Jay announced. As his assistant, I had to take note of more than just his schedules. New additions to the company had to be taken into account because I will have to assess and guide them.

However, the newest addition the company happens to be my ex-boyfriend. We broke up a few years ago because he was migrating to another country and the both of us settled that the long distance between weren't going to ease our already tensed relationship.

Fast forward to almost the end of the day, Taehyung approached me when most staff have already left the building.

"How are you?" He started.

"I'm doing well. What about you?"

We chatted for a while until the elevator ding-ed and out came Jay. At that moment, Taehyung and I was hugging because we confessed how much we missed each other.

"Oh Jay!" Taehyung greeted, "did you know that she's the girl I told you about?" I stared at him confused. He talked to Jay about me?

"Oh..." that was Jay's only response.

Not wanting to get caught up in any awkward situation, I excused myself and went home.

My ex-boyfriend returned and the guy I have feelings for is his best friend. What kind of drama did I just get myself into? I couldn't stop pacing back and forth thinking about the whole situation.

"It's not like Jay likes me back, right? Nor like Taehyung wants to get back together with me! I'm just overreacting. Everything's fine," I pepped talk myself.

After calming myself down, a few notifications popped up in my phone.

Taehyung: We need to talk. Let's meet

Jay: Dalkomm coffee near your house in 10. Don't be late or else

Now, what the hell is happening?
