She has the most beautiful eyes ever. Ones that sparkle when she spoke with passion. Lips that form a heartshape when she smiles. If the doctor could diagnose me with an illness, it would be extreme palpitation. If that even makes sense.

He has the cruelest smug ever. One I despise to glance upon but can't help gaping over when he passes by. His arm decorated with tattoos, as he claimed, his pride, form of art. Mesmerizing, enchanting and heartthrobbing.

As the two penned down their feelings in their respective journals, they forgot about the term, 'shoulder surfing', that was recently taught in school.

She eyes his entries in discreet every time he writes and he does the same. But what she didn't know, as much as she thought, his entries were probably not about her. Though her hopefulness and delusional self allowed her to believe that the girl he likes was none other than her.

He knew, every single word she wrote was meant for him. But he disregarded her feelings because their friendship mattered more than her petty emotions. At least, that's what he thought.

On the day she braved herself to confess, she donned herself beautifully. Bold eyeliner, subtle black mascara, shimmery eyeshadow and tinted lipstick. Her dress flowed majestically to her thighs, exposing nothing more than inappropriate skin.

Walking to the restaurant she arranged to meet up with him, she stopped in her tracks as she witnessed a frightful, heartbreaking sight.

The guy she poured her whole heart out to, in hopes he would do the same, the best friend of a lifetime, Jay Park, in the arms of another girl, one she never regarded as a competition, thinking their relationship was plainly platonic. Turning around, she forced a smile on her face, and spoke loudly in her head, drafting her next journal entry, "I guess what they all say about unrequited love is true, it hurts like a bitch."

As she walked away, Jay caught sight of her. He watched her leave pitifully, but it was the right thing to do. He knew that it was better to hurt her than lead her on to a dead end.

"I'm sorry that the girl I love isn't you, my dear friend."
