"Bull shit." Delsin spoke up. "We just saw you summon a pick of ice. There's no way that Augustine took away your powers!"

Although I didn't mean it, I gave Delsin a death glare. Thinking about what Augustine had done to me just weeks before was still pretty fresh in my mind, so it had easily gotten me worked up.

"Delsin, do you want to hear the rest of my story or not?" I asked in an irritated tone.

"Oh my god, there's actually an ending?!" Delsin threw on the most surprised face that he could manage. "I thought that we were going to die of old age before you finished."

I stared at him with a face that was less than amused by his comments.

'How can he be so gentle and caring one moment and then such an ass in the next?' I asked myself.

"Delsin," Reggie scolded his brother. "Just shut the hell up."

Delsin made a face and I smirked. These two were just like children at times.

"Thank you, Reggie." I said like a mother who was praising their child. "Now as I was saying," I sent a half-serious, half-playful glare Delsin's way. "Augustine managed to disable my powers. For a while. After a few days had passed the procedure began to wear off. Instead of completely disabling them, she had actually just stunned my powers. Although a great deal of them are still blocked off from me, I was able to regain some of the most basic moves. About a week after Augustine had abandoned her tests on me an incredible fog had begun to roll in. With it, I was able to fuel my powers just enough to make my escape. Once I made it to Seattle, I knew that the D.U.P. would be after me. If I were to have any chance to survive, I knew that I needed to find a place to hide.

That's when I found this place. I thought that since it looked abandoned enough, staying here would prove to be a piece of cake but as soon as I tried to break in I was caught. At first, I thought that everything was over then and there. That I was going to be shipped back to Curdun Cay. But when I saw that it was the couple that lived next to the apartment, my paranoia began to shrink. As I had thought, the apartment had been abandoned. Apparently the residents that lived here had left a few days before and had asked their neighbors to give the house-sitter the key to the place. I guess the guy never showed up because they mistook me for being the sitter. And just like that they gave me the keys and I've been staying here ever since."

"That was a lovely story, really. But-." Deslin interjected. "I think that you've left out a couple of things. Like, just how did you break outta Curdun Cay? And if it was so easy, then why'd I have to rescue you from the D.U.P.?"

I raised an eyebrow at Delsin. "Okay, first off, you didn't rescue me. I just happened to be in the D.U.P. suspect pin at the same time as when you were coincidentally breaking into it."

"You're welcome, by the way." Delsin replied cockily, to which I face palmed.

"And secondly, I can only use my powers when I have enough energy to fuel them. When I was back at Curdun Cay, there was enough fog for me to manage to turn into fog myself and slip through the bars. Today, right before you scared the hell out of me and I kneed you in the groin....-oh. Sorry about that by the way." Delsin just gave me an 'are you kidding me' look.

"Okay, I'm only 76% sorry....ANYWAYS! Right before all of that happened, I didn't have enough energy to break out and even if I did, I was afraid that innocent people would get hurt if the D.U.P. had to chase me down." I stated the last part as if it were the most obvious fact in the world.

For the first time in what felt like forever, Reggie spoke. "Alright, so far I've pretty much gotten the gist of what you're saying. But there is still two things that I don't understand."
"Which are?"
"Even if your powers are stunned, you're still a prime conduit. So why didn't your powers transfer to Delsin?"
