Reggie's P.O.V.

What felt like hours passed as I waited for my brother's return. For once in my life, Delsin wasn't the one occupying my mind with worry and a slight rage.

'God damn it, Isabella!' I thought angrily to myself, my body pacing back and forth in the dreary alleyway as I attempted to warm myself in the chilling rain. 'What the hell was she thinking running off like that?! This is exactly why I didn't want to get involved in the first place! Those two never listen!'

My internal rant was cut short as the sound of approaching footsteps splashed against the puddle-lined ground. Pausing in place, I slowly turned towards the mouth of the alleyway only to see a slightly peeved Delsin carrying a more than displeased Isabella as they ventured further into the gloomy pathway.

"Here ya go, Reg." Delsin announced as he drew closer, his usual humor somewhat lacking in his voice. "One disobedient conduit and her very pissed off attitude." Stopping a short few feet away, Delsin placed Isabella back on her feet. The woman merely looked down with a scowl, her long, white hair casting a shadow over her green orbs as she avoided making any eye contact. Ignoring her sullen demeanor, I crossed the remaining distance between us, my heavy footfalls displaying the anger that fumed inside of me.

"What the HELL did you think you were doing?!" I gritted my teeth at the woman, making no attempt to hide the fury in my tone. "Were you trying to get yourself killed? Or did you just want to go ahead and hand yourself over to Augustine and the D.U.P.?!"

Isabella's gaze remained fixated on the ground, her tightening fists by her sides the only indication that she had actually heard my words rather than brushing them off like Delsin usually did. But I didn't care. I couldn't give a shit about whether or not I was upsetting her because, for the first time since we had met her, I was genuinely pissed at her. Not even Delsin dared to utter a single syllable as I continued on with my ranting, my emotions fueling my words to dig deeper until they finally hit home.

"Do you understand the situation you could have put us in?! Do you understand how serious that little "stunt" of yours was? You promised never to run off if we got you your powers back, but that's exactly what you keep on doing anyways!"

"Reggie-" Delsin called softly from behind her in a pitiful attempt at trying to calm me down, but a quick glare effectively silenced him before I returned my attention back to Isabella.

"Do you want to go back to Curdun Cay?! Do you want your parents to have died for nothing?! Because if you do-"

The hard contact of a hand hitting the side of my face instantly cut my words off short, leaving a heavy silence to fall upon us save for the slight echoing sound of a smack fading off into the distance. With eyes wide and now taken aback, I took a cautious step backwards as I raised a hand to my now stinging cheek.

"How....dare you...." Isabella's words were low and menacing, almost to the point of a whisper as she lowered her hand from the slap. Looking up, the woman glared at me with glossy eyes, holding back whatever hot tears threatened to spill as a violent glint hardened in her usual soft, green orbs. For a moment it appeared as if she was shaking with rage, her fists clenching tightly by her sides almost to the point where her knuckles turned white. "You...have NO idea what I've been through...." She seethed, voice growing gradually louder with each word she spoke.

"Do you know what you've just done? Do you have any idea what YOU'VE condemned us to?!" She asked accusingly, her words causing me slight confusion. "Augustine is planning something and whatever it is, it involves a group of innocent people and those machines. The machines that I was TRYING to destroy! You think you're the only one who wants revenge on Augustine? Who wants to help protect their people from dying by her hand?! I've lost EVERYTHING to that woman, to those machines and her intentions for their use! You think Augustine is moving them here just to collect dust? That bitch is a monster! A fucking monster, Reggie! And you just took away my only chance at stopping her! And you!" Isabella quickly spun around to address my younger brother.

"Is this was what you meant when you said you got some "dirt on Augustine"?!" Delsin opened his mouth to reply but the guilty expression he wore was answer enough for the enraged woman. "Did you know about this?! About the D.U.P.s building a testing center for their new "subjects"?"

I shot a curious glance at my brother, wondering if what Isabella was saying was true. Once again his eyes held an expression of guilt, causing a sense of hurt to resonate within me at knowing that my own brother had hidden something so important from me.

Releasing a regretful sigh, Delsin gave Isabella a pleading look as he reached a hand out to her. "Bella, I-"

"DON'T TOUCH ME!!!" She quickly smacked Delsin's hand away before it reached her. "I can't believe you, Delsin! Just what exactly have you been keeping from me?!"

For once in his life, Delsin paused to think about how to respond. Choosing his words carefully, Delsin responded in a calm but leveled voice, "Bella, listen. All I know is that I overheard some D.U.P.s talking about some new tests Augustine was planning on running on a bunch of captives or other. But I swear, that's it! How the hell was I to know that Augustine would build her "Wonderful World of Terrors" over there? It's not like I had much to go on! I fuckin' swear I was going to tell you, Bella. I really was but-"

"When?!" Isabella cut in once again. "When exactly were you going to tell me? When Augustine started jabbing needles into people? Or when it was convenient for you?! Fuck, Delsin! How the hell am I supposed to trust you if you're keeping some serious shit like this from me!"

Not wanting to bear witness to my brother and Isabella's "lover's quarrel" (or whatever the hell this was), I attempted to regain control over the situation.

"Alright you two, break it up!" Moving closer to the pair, I attempted to separate the two in the same manner that all police officers do when met with a hostile argument. "None of that matters right now! What we need to do is calm down and think up a plan on how to stop A-"

"We don't have time for that!" Pushing herself away from us, Isabella slowly backed away from Delsin and I. "Augustine is planning on testing on whoever these "subjects" of hers are in under a few hours, and you want to sit and talk about it?!"

"Isabella, we need a plan if-"

"No, Reg. You need a plan, not me! I'm not going to just stand by while innocent people get hurt! You two can sit here all you want but I'm going to put a stop to this with or without you!" Not bothering to spare another word, Isabella quickly turned around before storming off further into the alleyway.

"Bella!" Delsin called out, ready to go after his female companion.

Isabella, however, merely shouted a, "Don't follow me!" over her shoulder before dashing off into the abandoned streets of Seattle; leaving my brother and I to watch after her retreating form with only a gloomy atmosphere to remain.
