Delsin's P.O.V.
Grabbing ahold of Reggie, I managed to pull us both out of the virtual world and into reality. How could I tell that we were back in reality? Easy. Most people don't know this but the ground of the virtual world does in fact feel hard, stable, and overall, realistic. However, that's nothing compared to falling down and having your back smack against ACTUAL FUCKING CEMENT!!!!
Reader's P.O.V.
The sound of limbs tumbling against the floor effectively caught my attention. "Delsin?" I asked in a worried tone before making my way towards said male. Kneeling down, I examined the man head to toe for injuries as I helped him up.
"Oh my god! Delsin, are you alright?!"
"Peachy." The man grunted out. "How about you, Reg?"
".................."
"Reg?"
"................."
Worried by the lack of response, I looked towards the other side of Delsin to see Reggie lying face down on the floor. "Reggie, are you okay?!" I asked, ready to help him up like I had done with his younger brother. However, before I could reach him a low muffled sound reached my ears.
"What was that?"
Turning his head slightly to the side, Reggie spoke in a pained tone. "I said, nobody touch me."
"What's your deal?" Fetch asked from the corner of the room, slightly offended by the officer's tone.
Reggie winced as he turned his head, attempting to glare in Fetch's direction as he spoke. "My deal is that I am in an immense amount of pain and would not like to be moved until my bones stop being broken."
Standing up, Delsin shook his head at his older brother before offering a hand out to him. "Reg, you're overreacting man. Now c'mon. Up."
Despite his obvious pain, Reggie accepted his brother's offer. "I've just been sucked into a video game, was chased by wolves, and then almost mauled by a polar bear. And you think I'm overreacting? Why is it that every time I come near this place, there is nothing but pain and mental scaring waiting for me?!"
Delsin waited a moment for his brother to get his bearings before slapping him playfully on the back. "Sounds like a personal problem to me, big brother."
Wincing at the contact, Reggie glared once more at the man. "Sometimes, Delsin, you can be a real pain in the ass."
'Tell me about it.' I smirked to myself.
"Love you too, Reg."
Before anyone could respond to the smartass comment, a blinding light filled the room as all of the monitors flickered to life. Working together to form one large screen, the monitors showed a single image of a winged guardian adorned with armor. In the background I could see several floating structures make of stone, their bricks and rubble illuminated by the sea of lava below.
"HOLY SHIT! JUST WHAT IN THE HELL IS THAT?!" I shouted before diving behind Delsin, who only chuckled at my reaction. Suddenly, a booming voice filled the room as the screen-displayed being commenced a "proper" introduction.
"FEAR NOT FAIR MADIN, FOR I AM HE WHO DWELLS! PROTECTOR OF THE INNOCENT AND PUNISHER OF THE WICKED!"
"Wait a minute," I began as I made my way out of hiding from behind Delsin. "Is that....Eugene?"
".............."
"...................."
"I AM HE WHO DWELLS! RULER OF THIS REALM! GUARDIAN OF THE PEOPLE! AND DESTROYER OF EVIL-!"
"Eugene," I cut the man off. "I know it's you. You can drop the act."
"YOU DARE INTURRUPT ME? FOOLISH MORTAL, DO YOU NOT KNOW OF MY POWER?!"
I crossed my arms over my chest and stared at the screen with an unamused expression. "Eugene." I spoke in a stern voice that resembled that of a mother. "This is very fascinating and all but I had gotten almost no sleep last night. So if you don't mind, can we skip the whole Mr. All-Powerful-And-Mighty thing and just get on with it."
"..........COME CLOSER CHILD, AND STAND BEFORE THE PLASMIC SHEETS THAT COMPOSE THE PORTAL FOR THAT WHICH YOU SEEK...."
"Umm, how about no?"
"APPROACH...."
"Na uh."
".....COME FORTH...."
"No way."
"....WALK HITHER...."
"Forget it pal!"
"DO NOT DEFY ME LEAST YOU WISH TO FACE MY WRATH!!!!"
The entire room practically shook from the volume of Eugene-Er....He Who Dwells' words.
"Bella," Delsin whispered into my ear while taking my hand in his. "Maybe you should listen to him. Eugene isn't exactly the most understanding person when he's in 'Heaven's Hellfire' mode. Dude can actually get pretty scary."
Looking into his eyes, I could tell that Delsin was telling the truth. With a sigh, I looked down in defeat.
"Fine." Releasing his hand I trudged forward to what could be my awaiting doom. "But I swear to god, Delsin. If I die in there, I'm gonna haunt your ass for all eternity."
Without warning, a colossal gloved hand tore through the screens before wrapping its fingers around my entire body. Pulling me in before I could even scream, my body vanished from the room through the portal, leaving my fellow conduits (and a very frightened Reggie) behind.
"Huh. You were right Fetch. It is funny." Delsin stated before jumping in after me.
Several minutes passed in silence between Fetch and Reggie until the officer finally spoke up.
"You do realize that she's going to kill him when they get back, right?"
"When they get back? D will be lucky to survive the first five minutes once she finds him."
