Bella's P.O.V.'Out of all the alleyways, why'd he have to pick this one?!' Hurrying down the street, I made my way closer to said area where Delsin was without a doubt waiting with that cocky smirk of his.
"Isabella!" Reggie panted out behind me. "Slow down!"
"What?" I called back, looking behind me just in time to trip over something. "I can't hear-AAHHHH!"
Delsin's P.O.V.
"What the hell's taking them so long?" I mumbled to myself. Fifteen minutes have gone by since Isabella hung up on me, and they still weren't here yet. Just as I was about to pull out my phone, two familiar voices sounded from around the corner.
"You know, you can put me down now. Conduits heal fast, remember?"
'Bella?' I thought to myself.
Another voice began to speak and immediately I recognized it as Reggie's. "What, and risk you hobbling up to Delsin? No way."
"Come on, Reg. It was barely broken!"
'....What....'
"You cried for five minutes! Honestly, Isabella. If you had just slowed down-"
"Hey! It's not my fault if you're too slow!"
'....The....'
"Slow?! I was going as fast as I could!"
"I can't help it that conduits have a higher stamina."
'....Fuck?!'
To anyone else, the scene of Isabella being held bridal-style by Reggie wouldn't have been such a big deal. To me, however, it triggered some unknown feeling deep down within me. Bella), as oblivious as ever, didn't catch the death glare that I was giving my brother. Reggie, on the other hand, didn't just see it. He could feel it. It was at that point that Reggie decided to release his hold on Isabella without so much as a warning, leaving nothing to stop her from falling to the ground.
"Oww....first my ankle and now my butt? What the hell Reggie?!" Isabella moaned in pain.
Looking back up at my brother, I could practically feel the smoke radiating off of me. "Reggie...." I growled out.
The man simply raised his hands up in surrender before saying, "Soda can."
"What?"
"There was a soda can. She tripped, broke her ankle, and I carried her. Soda can."
Bella's P.O.V.
'Damn you gravity!' I thought. 'I shall have my revenge on you yet!'
Before I could finish my declaration of war against nature's gravitational pull, a pair of strong arms pulled me up. Looking up I could see Delsin with an uncharacteristic frown replacing his usual smirk. Dear god did he look pissed.
"My hero." I stated dramatically, attempting to lighten the now tense air.
As soon as I was returned to a standing position, Delsin wrapped his arms around my waist.
"Damn right I'm your hero." He stated almost darkly. "Now c'mon, I want to show you something." Not waiting for my response, Delsin half-lead-half-dragged me a few feet further into the alley. Reggie, not wanting to get his ass kicked, decided to stay put.
"So, what'd ya think?" Delsin mumbled as he rested his chin on top of my head. (Damn, he's tall.)
I could only gape in awe at the wall before us. In black and white spray-paint was a snowman with three D.U.P. agents. Sticking out of the top of the snowman were the two flailing legs of a D.U.P., while two more agents stood on each side, both attempting to free their snow-lodged comrade.
"Is....is this for me?" I asked in disbelief. No one had ever done something like this for me before and to say that I was a little surprised would be an understatement.
Delsin let out a low chuckle as he rolled his eyes. "Nope, it's for Eugene. I painted a snowman for him in this particular spot and thought I'd run it by you first.....'course it's for you, snowflake."
I blushed at the nickname, remembering how he had used it the night before. It was then that I finally realized just how intimate our position was as we stood inside of the same alleyway that Delsin had first kissed me in.
And just like last time, the moment was interrupted by none other than Reggie.
"You do realize that I'm still here, right?"
"Reggie!" We shouted at the same time; Delsin out of irritation and me out of shock.
'I can't believe I forgot about Reggie. He practically carried me all the way here after we spent the whole day working together!'
Freeing myself from Delsin's grasp, I turned around to find a slightly uncomfortable Reggie. "Oh....sorry Reg....we were just-"
"-having a moment." Delsin finished, causing me to look up at him in horror. "What?" He asked, slightly confused. "We were."
"Okay...just, here." The officer raised up the mysterious bag for the smoke conduit to take. "I don't know what is going on between you two but I'm not going to ask. I don't want to know. I don't need to know, and I don't plan on knowing. All I'm going to do is give you your blast shards, leave and never ask about what just happened."
"Blast shards?" I spoke up, snatching the bag out of Reggie's hand before Delsin could take it. "Is that what these are?" To Delsin's horror and my curious delight, I unzipped the bag. A soft blue glow emitted from the opening as I studied the strange objects within.
'Huh....these look just like.......' My eyes widened as the realization set in. "Delsin," I managed in a low tone, still not looking up from the bag. "You sick pervert!"
