I stared at the wall ignoring the arguing happening around me, deciding where I needed to be who I needed to be with. My parents fought for dominance without bothering to ask my opinion. My mother wanted to whisk me off to Florida with her and her new boy toy, while my father wanted to take me to Africa with him where he spent his time working to help the people there.

"Cassie!" my parents turned to me said in unison snapping me out of my thoughts and I stared at each of them in turn, they were being unfair and they knew it. I could see the guilt on their faces before the question even came out of their mouths. "Who do you choose?"

I sat up in the wooden chair straightening my back and looking at each one before taking a deep breath. "I choose my grandma. She got ahold of me a couple days ago and said that I was always welcomed to come be with her in Washington. I'm going to go." I said bracing myself for the hurt that flashed In their eyes.

With a sigh my father ran a hand through his brown hair. "That's fair Cas." He said earning a glare from my mom but even she knew it was probably the best decision. My parents made plans for me to leave the next day as I would have if I had chosen one of them I called my grandma and told her I was coming while my mom got a ticket for a plane early in the morning.

God I hated planes.
