I fiddled with my hair for the thousand time as I stood in front of nyx's house not the pack house he had moved into but his mothers house. Nyx kissed my cheek and took my hand pulling me to the door and raising his hand to knock, but before he could the door flew open and dawns familiar face popped up from the doorway she froze as her eyes landed on me and widened.

"You!? the girl from the plane? your my sons mate?" she smiled brightly and ushered us into the house.

She already had a giant meal on the table and she jumped into questions. "how do you like it here? is my son treating you right? Still scared of planes? Have you gotten to the mark? where are your parents?" she garbled out and Nyx groaned but I smiled brushing my hair back from my neck and pushing my shirt down to show the bite she grinned again.

"I really like it here thanks to Nyx and Lexi." speak of the devil Lexi bounded down the stairs and jumped into the seat beside me with a wink "my parents didn't come with me my dads in Africa my mom is in Florida Nyx is Amazing and of course he treats me right" I laughed and she smiled.

"Good dig in then!" she smiled not pressing further and I waited for them to make a plate before I followed suit. As I passed the next plate to dawn she stiffened a growl rising In her throat. Everyone froze and looked at her as she stood.

A voice from the door spoke up and I turned in horror to see Rachel leaning against the door. and angry roar erupted from Nyx and he jumped up. "how dare you." Rachel ignored him and walked over to me grabbing my arm and literally throwing me out the door, Nyx seemed to materialize out the door and I crashed into his chest his arms wrapping around me. "nice...catch.." I choked out as Rachel stepped out the door playing with her nails an evil smirk on her face.

Nyx howled in pain falling into one of his knees as he tried not to drop me and carefully set me down. "Nyx?" I turned to him to see a giant gray wolf smiling Rachel walked over to man beside the wolf. "how date you? You said he would be mine." The man smiled taking her face in his hands and with a quick flex of muscles turned her head snapping her neck and I watched I'm horror as her limp body fell to the ground and the man turned his gray eyes to me squatting down in front of me and reaching out his hand. I was vaguely aware of Nyx snarling and transforming into a wolf attacking the gray one Lexi came out next her white wolf charging for me but a brown wolf intercepted her and they rolled in a tangle of gangs and claws.

"Come Cassie let me take you somewhere safe. I've created a place for you, where you don't have to hide, a place you'll be accepted like mother wanted you to be able to. let me protect you." I stared at his hand and my vision blurred as I felt something in my mind shatter and everything came rushing back before my eyes.
