Awakened

I sat up in lance's arms Nyx was snarling at the wolf that laid limp at his feet, but I was to busy staring into the gray eyes of lance... my brother. he stroked my cheek as he held me scooping me up into his arms bridal style and stood up. "welcome back, sister." he said and everyone but us froze he set me down carefully on my feet facing him and he smiled.

"Princess?" Nyx asked and I turned to him he sucked in a breath and I knew what he saw my mixed colored eyes the new air of confidence and the different scent. he came up to me with inhuman speed and brought me back several feet "what happened are you okay?" I nodded leaning into his hand, this was my mate my love.. Nyx. I leaned up on my tiptoes and kissed him.

"Cassie come here." lance snarled opening his hand for me and I wanted to go to him he is my brother after all I loved him and for many years I needed him but I shook my head and leaned into Nyx. " I have come for you, your awake now I've come to take you back you need me why do you cling to him still?!" he snarled

"I needed you when I was a child lance, you have to understand that I am with Nyx . I don't want to be anywhere without him." I said it softly but he growled In anger transforming into a giant reddish brown wolf and he snarled at Nyx who was already hurt and in no position to fight. Nyx stepped up in front of me but I grabbed his hand and yanked him back.

I took a step forward and blocked my brothers way I held out my arm with a smile "go ahead brother bite me, you'll only die of you do." I tilted my head and he snarled obviously offended I thought he would even think about harming me. he stepped back and whined at me as I lowered my arm

"I thought so." I yelled at him and he growled at this crouching low and jumping over my head to Nyx I ran toward them as lance reached out to bite him to kill him. I knew I had to do something but to kill my own brother? I shuddered at the thought but Nyxs green eyes brought me to my decision I cannot live without him, no one not even my brother could be allowed to take him from me.. I loved him.

I pushed myself forward feeling something change and snap inside of me as I did I threw my arm out and into lances mouth he closed his mouth around it and I cried out on pain. Nyx snarled and transformed.
"Nyx no!" I snapped and he stopped lance released me his eyes wide and he staggered back and Nyx transformed beside me "what's happening?" he asked and I took a deep breath.

"My blood.. is poison to werewolf's, when he bit my arm that blood entered his system." I said softly as my brother laid on the ground breathing hard. "It doesn't hurt, it makes you tired before you fall to sleep to never rise again."

"What are you?" Nyx asked and I choked back my tears

"Im a hybrid. " I paused and stroked lances head feeling the tears fall down my cheeks. "my father was a werewolf, my mother was the opposite, a being with no real name created for the soul purpose of keeping the moon goddesses beloved creatures at bay, population control like witches to vampires." I smiled at the memory of my father and mother two creatures set out to kill each other, yet so much in love.

"Lance is only my half brother same father different mother, he was my stone while my blood fought against each other. I blinked feeling my right eye sting. "My mother with the help if a witch locked away my supernatural blood to hide me from my fathers pack who were out to kill us then hid me by inserting me into a human life human family from there I do remember from there I was human. But i assume my parents were murdered." I turned to Nyx and he sucked in another breath.

"Your eyes are... Both purple." I closed my eyes and smiled "because my mothers blood has finally destroyed the werewolf blood within me." Lexi walked to me now she was dressed and calm. "so what? your a creature that can kill us all I don't care your still Cassie, your still my best friend. just no more biting you two." she eyes Nyx and I laughed pulling her into a hug Lexi hugged me back and went back inside the house and Nyx watched me now.
"Do you hate me?" I asked quietly and he shook his head stepping forward to hug me. "Of course I don't!" he kissed me all over and took my hand the bite marks had vanished and healed over.

"I'm so glad your okay." he whispered into my ear and I sagged against him in relief. "Cassie..?" I pulled back his tone soft and his eyes filled with love he stroked my cheek softly before he spoke. "I love you." my breath caught and I blushed, it's the first time he has told me that.
"I love you too." I pulled him close and kissed him he smiled and took my hand pulling me to the house, but I stopped and turned around to where my brother was moments before, but he was gone, a small trail of blood lead into the forest and I sobbed leaning into Nyx as he lead me back inside.
