Headaches suck

My alarm clock buzzed and I sat up groggily rubbing my eyes. turning to see that once again Nyx had snuck through my window and was asleep in my bed. He had been doing it ever since the phone call he got three days ago he mumbled something along the lines of "five more minutes" as I got out of the bed I rolled my eyes and headed into the bathroom shutting the door behind me as softly as I could.

He had been running around all night trying to pick up any scents that might tell him if Rachel was finally making her move or not and if I would need to be moved or evacuated by Lexi who growled wanting to join into the fight but she gave in the moment I rounded the corner.

I stripped out of my clothes and jumped into the shower deciding to do it before Nyx woke up and decided to invite himself into it as well. he had become more possesive and defensive with the threat getting closer and even had at least one wolf around me at all times when he wasn't around I could always see the wolf sitting outside my house it's eyes and ears focused and intent on listening for danger. I felt bad that they were doing this it was wearing them out before the fight even arrived.

I had just pulled on some clothes and got my hair into a ponytail when it happened an huge pain filled my head and squatted down on the bathroom floor my hand gripping the counter for support while the other rested on my head a couple images and sounds flashed past my eyes.

"We have to protect her."

"She should grow up normal"

"Block it out"

The voices said images of two people standing in front of me said both were guys in odd costs and I heard a woman scream my name when suddenly it was gone. I groaned and massaged my temples. "what the hell..." I grumbled standing up and looking at myself in the mirror my face was pale my gray eyes wide and my eyes slid to the reflection at the door as it opened and Nyx stepped inside.

"Cassie? princess? what's wrong?" he said worriedly scooping me up bridal style and he carried me to the bed setting me down.

"It's just a headache is all...." I smiled reassuringly.

"But your so pale and you look so sick." he said placing a warm hand on my cheek. "I'm fine"

"You however won't be" we both turned to see my grandma glaring down at Nyx who was only wearing a pair of sweatpants. he laughed and stood up "I'm sorry ma'am" he said with an innocent smile and she huffed walking over to me and touching my forehead "oh jeez honey your burning up!" my grandma said in horror and stood up racing downstairs worried she would fall I looked at Nyx "please go helps her" I said and he smiled nodding and followed after my grandmother and I smiled hearing her and the sounds of familiar clanging pans.

My body felt weak drained afte the head ache but my fever went away in only an hour and I felt okay for school ignoring Nyx and my grandma as I declared I was going to school and they couldn't stop me.

"Who said I would?" Nyx smiled and the door flew open and as if on cue in flew Lexi a ton of bags in her hand "what are you doing get your sexy butt back in bed!" she yelled at me giving her brother a disapproving glare and then turned that glare to me as I didn't move.

Caving under her glare I grumbled "playing dirty calling in lexi" under my breath knowing both of them heard me as she stuck her tongue out at me and i rolled my eyes as I moved toward the stairs but once again was scooped up into Nyxs arms I blushed bright red as he carried me up the stairs and into my room laying me down into the bed and planted a soft kiss on my forehead before heading back downstairs to help the two rampaging woman with what he could.
