I stood in front of a cute little cabin that was surrounded by forest it looked cozy and safe even with the daunting woods behind it. The man, who I had found out to be a very sweet police officer who had helped my grandma on several occasions helped carry my bags into the house. he put them in my room as I looked around, when he came down the stairs I thanked him and he smiles "my phone number is on the fridge Cassie just in case you or your grandmother need anything." he said and my grandma smacked his arm.

"You worry to much Michael. I'm not that old you know." she said with a spark In her eyes I had seen many times before. He laughed "ah well you know I can't help it you practically raised me you know." he said and i laughed I had remembered a story about a Michael from my mother her best friend growing up.

"Thanks again." I said as he walked out the door and he nodded "I hope you enjoy staying here Cassie, I think this town will be a good change for you... and you for it." With that he left and I waved closing the door. I turned around finding my grandma had already disappeared and I rolled my eyes finding her in the kitchen already starting to make something it was a habit of hers to always break the ice using food. "How's your mother?" my grandmother asked and I shrugged biting my lip.

"She's okay I guess grams, she lives in Florida now with her new boy toy." she laughed and turned rolling her eyes "boy toy I can feel the love there Cas." She chuckled and I smiled "you wouldn't like him either he is nothing like dad."I said. She paused her smile fading a little "is my silly son still working in Africa?" I nodded and leaned back looking out the window to the trees.

"Are there wolves here?" I asked and she smiled and answered with a weird look in her eyes as if there was a secret or inside joke about it "yes". was all she would say then turned around to focus on the food again.

"By the way Honey you start school on Monday." I groaned putting my fork down on my plate earning a laugh from my grandma.
"Your a beautiful young girl honey you'll have friends and boys drooling at your feet in no time" I rolled my eyes and yawned standing up and rinsing my plate. "Thank you dinner was yummy." she smiled shooing me off to my room. "your welcome"

My room was nice, it was smaller than my room back home but it had its own bathroom and a really nice look of the forest too. I was exhausted and decided to jump into the shower head for bed turning on my alarm clock I had dug out of my many bags and decided to spend my Sunday unpacking my things.
