I stood in front of the walkway bitting my lip, and eyeing the ticket in my hand knowing it was not reasonable not to fly to my grandmas but still I felt the dread wash over me and I stifled a groan going over the stupid statistic everyone says to you but never makes you feel better.
"You'll be fine Hun." my mother said behind me with a reassuring smile on her face. My father grinned beside me and gave me a giant hug " you never change" he chuckled before giving me a small push towards the plane. I took a deep breath and stalked into the plane waving once more to my parents before I rounded the corner and could no longer see their faces.
The pilot gave me a smile as I walked past his eyes filled with sympathy and I smiled weakly back and glanced at my ticket nervously walking down the plane looking at the seat numbers and quickly found my row, an older woman was sitting on the chair next to mine and she looked up with a soft reassuring smile as if she could tell I was freaking out, and if my face was half as pale as I feared it was she could easily tell.
"Don't like planes?" she asked and I stuffed my bag into the overhead storage I laughed "is it that obvious?" she chuckled and nodded as I took my seat and she patted my knee. "It will be okay dear. Just keep your mind on the destination." she chuckled knowing she was saying exactly opposite of what people usually say I laughed and leaned back into my chair as the attendant went over the safety procedures.
I put in one of my earbuds as I heard the engine roar, closing my eyes and taking deep breaths a warm hand rested on my shoulder and I turned to the woman beside me she smiled handing me a piece of gum. "helps with your ears." she told me noticing I had no idea why she had handed me a piece of gum my mind wondering For a moment if I had horrible breath or something. "Oh thank you." and she nodded popping a piece in her mouth as well and settled down into her seat.
As the plane started to move I put the piece of gum in my mouth and tried to focus on the gum instead of the fact that the plane was increasing speed. I gripped my seat as I felt the plane tilt and lift into the air and the woman set a hand on my arm in a motherly way trying to comfort me and it did help.

I grabbed my bag off of the overhead storage and got Into the line the woman who's name was dawn followed suit I had thanked her and quickly made my way of the plane heading into the lobby eager to see my grandma now. I scanned the lobby and my eyes immediately located a tall boy standing in the lobby he looked only a year or so older than me and was dressed in all black he ran a hand through his black hair with a nervous look on his face.I let my eyes slide behind them and they landed on an adorable wrinkled face and blue eyes, grandma. I smiled and jogged to her passing the tall muscled and beautiful guy as I went. I felt a hand on my arm and I was pulled back the tall boy had grabbed me and he was staring into my Gray eyes with his stunning green ones his eyes wide with shock and he seemed at a loss for words. "You.." he started and then stopped as if he had snapped out of whatever it was that had him. "I'm sorry I thought you were someone else" he smiled and I nodded turning back
As dawn got off the plane. "mom" the boy smiled and walked to her kissing her cheek and grabbing her bags. They grinned at each other.I turned to my grandma and walked over to her wrapping my arms around her tiny frame.
"Cassie!" she said excitedly "I missed you so much, and look at you such a fine and beautiful young girl you've turned into." she smiled pulling back to look at me and i laughed. "let's go grams, the sooner I'm away from
This airport the better off I will be." she chuckled and looped her arm in mine and lead me from the airport to a black car that was obviously waiting just for her as the man inside smiled when she approached even getting out of the to open the door for her. "Home ma'am?" He asked as he slid back into the drivers seat my grandma nodded and turned to me jumping into a million questions like she always did.
