"I can't believe you could be so irresponsible !"my mother yelled at me as she stormed into the office.
She runs up to Cindy who is laying on the table. "Are you okay sweetie? It's alright. Mommy's here." She pets Cindy as she looks at me. Dirtily.
The vet came in shortly after and informed my mother of whats going on. "Well she's alive, and she can survive. But she does have two broken legs. And a lot of open wounds. The one should heal just fine. But the left one, will need to be amputated."
My mother gasps. " My poor baby!" she says bursting into tears.
The doctor hand her a box of tissues. "With your permission, we can begin the procedure immediately. Miss Cindy will need to spend the night. "
She blows her nose and wipes her tears. I just sit in corner. All I can think is oh shit. She's gonna kill me.
"Ok," my mother sniffs. "Should I spend the night? should I stay with her during surgery?"
"Well ma'am. I suggest you get home and take your daughter with you. The weather is getting pretty bad. But don't worry. I'll take excellent care of little Cindy here. She'll be fine," the vet says.
"If that's what is best, doctor, then it's what I'll do,". My mother says goodbye to Cindy and heads for the door. I get up and follow behind her.
"Now y'all get home safely, alright. I'll see you soon. Have a good night." The vet escorts us to the door, and we see the walk to the car.
My mother opens her door and gets inside. She starts the car. I knock on the window since she hadn't unlocked my door. Instead she rolls down the window. "You can walk home. After what you did. You deserve it. Sides. You could use the exercise. Goodbye."
With that, she pulled out of the parking lot and left me there standing in the snow.
I started to walk home, but it was hard to see. What kind of mother makes her daughter walk home in a blizzard? heh. The kind that cares more about her precious dog. God I hate her.
I continue to walk home until I stumble in completely frozen. I walk straight to my room to avoid Her wrath. I've had enough of her today. I am sooo done.
I crawled Into bed. I figured it was about damn time I finished my nap. It had been a long ass night.
