I regain my consciousness and prepare to open my eyes. Now that I'm dead, I think to myself, what awaits me? did I make it heaven or hell? I laugh to myself. Yea. Right. There's no way I was that good.
I open my eyes expecting to see the firey depths of hell. Instead, I see a cement ceiling. More importantly, a pool cement ceiling. "Ha. I always knew this place was hell."
I thought I was talking to myself, so I wasn't expecting a response. I nearly shit my pants when I heard "well you're not dead just yet. "
I roll my head over to see Arianna sitting there next to Brittany putting away an AED. "What happened?"
"I was in the lifeguard office bandaging Brittany's arm(she cut it on the block) when she said she heard something on the deck. I went to check it out. I found you at the bottom and I made her get the AED and I jumped in and dragged your dumbass out. "Arianna looks at me all serious like "why don't you tell me? why the hell would you try to kill yourself?!?"
"Why didn't you just let me die? " I look away from her ashamed.
"Nothing could ever be that bad." Arianna.
"You don't understand my life. You started to ignore me. Everyone did. By the way, you were right, Arnesto just used me for sex. And everybody knew it. My parents are ashamed of me because ,well, I'm pregnant. And oh. I just got raped again. I'm seriously better off dead."
I burst into tears and Arianna pulled me into her lap. "Oh Lilly. I'm so sorry."
I forgot Brittany was there. I f I had remembered before she began talking, I probably wouldn't have just spilled my whole life story. "Wait. Who raped you?"
I look at her unsure how to answer her. I mean I've never trusted her before, why start now? but then again she did look like she genuinely cared. I decide to answer her. " C-coach B-Brent"
I thought she would look surprised, but yet I got a totally different response. " Y-you too?"
"Whoa whoa whoa" Arianna says. " That jerk has been up to no good again? oh his ass is sooooo fired. Something needs to be done about this. Don't worry Lilly. Things are finally going to get a lot better for you. Trust me."
I look at her and smile. "I hope so," I say. "They really can't get much worse.
