Chapter 32 A Full Moon to Remember

The next day was more of the same practice, practice, practice. On their final night, the night of the Full Moon; that was the special night for them. They would be up most of the night so the children were sleeping in very late that day. No practice during the day also no food just light drinks to tide them over.

Lady Xandria and little Lady Gaia are up at the very top of the mountain where the ceremonial standing stones are erected, as well as an all stone pentagram which is carved deep into the stone bed of the ground under their feet. Each standing stone has a deep valley carved into it to hold a large diameter candle and water to the west, a large diameter candle and fire to the south, a large diameter candle and wind AKA incense to the east, and to the north also a large diameter candle and some earth or salt. In the center the alter is set up to the northern side. Upon the alter sits a red candle a pink candle a tall white candle and four smaller candles three pink and one blue to represent the initiates. There is also a challis for the blood offering, a smudge, black handled knife, many crystals, herbs, holly water, and carved into the center is a pentagram. Dead center of the circle is a needs fire stacked with a pile of wood ready for tonight's ceremony.

The two witches went about their business calling up the watchtowers inviting them in to watch over tonight's service. Then each one taking turns around the circle raising it. First with a lit candle lighting the ones on the standing stones at each coordinate starting at the east. It was Lady Xandria that started it bringing light to the circle finishing at the alter after she had lit all four corner candles. Next Lady Gaia brought around some water that has some salt mixed in with it. She went about sprinkling it at each coordinate like Lady Xandria just finished doing. Next Lady Xandria brought around a burning smudge of sage waving a feather through it clearing the air throughout the entire circle returning to the alter placing it into a sea shell to keep burning.

At this point they both proceeded to call forth the God and Moon Goddess down into the circle asking them to watch over their ceremony for this night and to grant them a fair bonding with fair sight and hearing. At this point Lady Xandria raise the entire circle of protection around and under the circle enclosing them inside a bubble of the goddesses loving protection for the duration of the ceremony. It was getting close to the mid of night, and time for the ceremony to start. All the rest of the children were being led up the hill by their parents dressed in the golden robes of the finest silk. This was a joyous occasion for one and all, the childrens very first true Full Moon ceremony bring down the Moon service with the Moon Goddess and the God of the sky present to watch over them and protect them from harm and to give them their blessing. Such a joyous event to be sure.

When all where in attendance they were instructed to have the children form a single line by the gray stone by the eastern side. All the rest were instructed to form a circle around the outer edge and hold hands the entire time. Lady Gaia went to the eastern edge just within the circle with a large sword to cut an opening into it; so she could let the children into the circle. She invited them in one by one, then reversed the sealing closing them inside tight praying over the closure so as to ask for total sealant. They all moved to the alter standing in a single line in front of Lady Xandria so she could conduct the ceremony. With Lady Gaia's help they both lit all the candles on the alter. Lady Xandria turned and waving her arms over the needs fire it burst into flames of blue, red, and yellow.

At this point Lady Xandria motioned for little Lady Gaia to move back into line with the others. It was time for the ceremony to start for her and the rest of the children. She started with bring forth each child exposing their arm waving her hand over them to put them into a trance. Then she lifted her black knife off the alter opening their artery over a challis to catch some of their blood, she sealed it off stopping the flow of blood from each of the children. Once she had all four children done she did the same to herself, she mixed it with her black handled knife praying over it chanting a spell to the Sun God and Moon Goddess for them all to be bound and have the gift of sight and hearing for one and all.
