Hamilton AU - Congratulations

(If you were wondering why i didn't include Angelica/Virgil's part in the last one, this is why lol)

Logan was at his desk, stressed out of his mind. He had so much work to do and this whole situation just added on to it.

He heard the door open. He looked up to see Virgil.

"Hello, Virgil." Logan smiled.

"Hello, Logan." Virgil returned the smile.

Logan went to speak but he was cut off by the man in front of him.

"I have one thing to say, Logan." His smile faded into a scowl. "Congratulations."

Logan tried to intervene but Virgil continued anyway.

"You have invented a new kind of stupid. A damage you can never undo kind of stupid." He pinched the bridge of his nose, annoyance clear in his face.

"An open all the cages in the zoo kind of stupid! Truly, you didn't think this through kind of stupid." He stepped forward towards him and placed his hands on the desk.

"Let's review. You took a rumor a few, maybe two people knew, and refuted it by sharing an affair of which no one has accused you."

"I-" Logan started.

"I begged you to take a break. You refused to." Virgil had started to pace the room in anger. "So scared of what your enemies might do to you. You're the only enemy you ever seem to lose to!"

"You know why everyone can do what they want? They don't dignify school yard taunts with a response! So, yeah, congratulations!" He exclaimed.

"Virgil-"

"You've redefined your legacy. Congratulations!"

"It was an act of political sacrifice!" Logan blurted out.

(Oh shit boi you gonna get it now)

"Sacrifice?! Do you want to know what sacrifice looks like, Logan?!" Virgil yelled.

"I languished in a loveless marriage in London. I lived only to read your letters."

Tears had started to form in both their eyes. Virgil looked up and shook his head.

"I look at you and think 'God, what have we done with our lives and where did it get us?'" Virgil waved his hands in pure anger and helplessness.

"That doesn't wipe the tears of the years away, but I'm back in the city and I'm here to stay. You know what I'm here to do?" Virgil wiped away the tears threatening to fall.

"Virgil-" Logan extended his hand.

Virgil smacked it away. "I'm not here for you."

"I know my brother like I know my own mind. You will never find anyone as trusting or as kind."

This time, it was tears in Logan's eyes that were about to fall.

Virgil stepped forward and put a finger on Logan's chest. "And a million years ago he said to me; 'This one's mine', so I stood by. Do you know why?"

Virgil didn't care to stop them this time as tears were now streaming down his face.

"I love my brother more than anything in this life! I will choose his happiness over mine every time! Yes, Patton!"

"Patton..." Logan muttered.

"Is the best thing in our lives! So never lose sight of the fact that you have been blessed with the best husband!" Virgil was beyond angry.

Logan now had tears streaming down his cheeks as he listened. He had endless amounts of regret hitting him all at once.

"Congratulations! For the rest of your life, every sacrifice you make is for my brother. Give him the best life!" Virgil raised a hand and smacked Logan across the face.

Logan looked up, still rubbing his cheek.

Virgil looked down at him and scowled in disapproval. "Congratulations."

He walked towards the door and slammed it behind him.

Now Logan was alone in his office. He rubbed his cheek and sighed.

"What have I done?"

Virgil is NOT happy. DONT mess with Patton or Virge will find you lol.

This was probs the most fun to write in this AU tbh
