9:00pm

The four of them sat there, cuddled on the couch in the common room of the mindscape.

Logan was sitting on one side of the couch with Patton cuddled into his side, a blanket draped over them.

On the opposite side of the couch sat Virgil with Roman's head in his lap, blanket draped over him, while the dark trait was calmly brushing his fingers through his boyfriend's hair.

They were watching TV when Logan got a look at the clock.

"The ball drop is already on. Should we change the channel?" He asked the group.

Patton nodded.

Roman sat up next to Virgil. "Sure."

"Yeah ok" Virgil replied. He ruffled the prince's hair and smiled.

"You're lucky I love you or else you'd be dead for that, Hot Topic." Roman chuckled as he tried to fix his hair.

"Well then it's a good thing you love me." Virgil smirked as he ruffled Roman's soft locks again.

Roman smiled and sighed as he accepted his fate.

Patton chuckled at the two and sat up. "Well I'll get snacks for everyone." He quickly kissed Logan on the cheek and walked over to the kitchen.

Logan smiled and grabbed the remote to change the channel. He finally clicked on the right one and set the control down.

Virgil repositioned himself to be in the middle of the couch, between Patton and Roman.

Roman sat closer to him and laid his head on his boyfriend's shoulder while intertwining their fingers.

Patton came back and handed the two a small bucket of popcorn while he had one for Logan and himself. He sat down and repositioned himself next to Logan.

"Is it me or should they get someone else to host this thing?" Virgil asked.

"Agreed." Logan added.

"Yeah I don't really like Ryan Seacrest that much." Patton replied.

"Me neither." Roman added.

"Thank god, I'm not the only one." Virgil chuckled.

Roman raised his hand and ruffled Virgil's hair. Virgil glared at him faintly. "Haha payback."

Virgil rolled his eyes fondly. "Dork."

"Yeah but you love me." Roman added.

The trait smirked. "Yuuup" Virgil said popping the 'p' sound.

They continued to watch the event.

Patton felt bad for the people in Times Square who must've been freezing.

They sat there, both couples had their fingers entwined together.

11:50pm

"10 more minutes!" Patton exclaimed as he got up to walk to the kitchen.

The other three stood up as he came back with the champagne. He gave each of them a glass and held the bottle.

11:59pm

The ball was dropping and the timer was counting down. It was up to the last 10 seconds of the year.

The four if them counted down in unison.

"10"

"9"

12:00am

Patton popped open the bottle as they all screamed.

"Happy New Year!!"

Virgil turned to Roman and pulled him in for a kiss.

Patton did the same, kisssing Logan all over his face.

They all came in for a group hug. When they pulled away, Patton poured each side a glass of champagne.

They stood around and held their glasses.

"Ok be prepared for a long sappy speech kiddos." Patton chuckled.

"We wouldn't expect any less from you, Dad." Virgil smiled.

Patton nodded and raised his glass. "To the new year! I am extremely proud of how much we have all grown this year. We have had our low points but there were always high ones to lift our spirits again."

He turned to Logan and held his hand. "I am incredibly grateful for you, Logan, the love of my life, and I am excited to see where our relationship will go from here! I love you." He smiled.

"I love you too." Logan said and placed a quick kiss on the fatherly trait's cheek.

Roman wrapped his arm around Virgil and kissed the top of his head.

Patton turned to the two and smiled. "I am incredibly glad that you two are so happy together and i am excited to see how your relationship will grow into the new year!"

"Thank you, Patton." Roman replied.

"Thanks, Dad." Virgil smiled.

"To our friendship! To our partnerships! I love you all so much." Patton concluded.

"We love you too, Patton." Logan responded. "To us." He said as he raised his glass.

"To Thomas!" Roman added.

"And to the hope that this year will be less shitty than the last one!" Virgil chuckled.

They all laughed at that and clinked their glasses together.

They all took a sip and smiled, hoping the new year would treat them kindly.
