(Ok so after watching Coco again, crying once more, and after reading StarOfLightning 's one shot i got inspired to write this. Also if you haven't watched Coco yet I HIGHLY recommend it. It's amazing. I also recommend you read Star's one shot cuz it was a great use of Remember Me applied to the sides. Ok enjoy!)

________

Roman sat in the mindscape, alone.

He sat on the couch in the commons that now felt empty due to their absence.

They were gone.

The others had faded.

His family was gone.

His eyes were now puffy, his cheeks red and tear stained. He looked down at the picture he held in his hands.

It was a picture of all of them. All four of them. It was a few days after Virgil was introduced and Patton wanted to capture the memory with a group picture.

His fingers graced over their faces. He took in all of their smiles...and Virgil's scowl. He wished he could see them again.

Soon he was going to.

They had all faded, so it was only a matter of time before he did too. Thomas couldn't function without the other three.

Still, he wanted to take a look around the mindscape one last time.

He put the picture in his pocket and got up. He started down the hall to take a look at all of their rooms. He started with Virgil's.

As he took in the dark trait's room he remembered all the good times. The nicknames, the teasing, all of it.

Say that I'm crazy or call me a fool.
But last night it seems that i dreamed about you.

His memory flooded back to a few months ago. They were all happy. And here together.

When I opened my mouth, what came out was a song
And you knew every word and we all sang along.

He remembered the movie marathons. They had them every week. They would all sit together and watch Disney movies and sing along.

To a melody played on the strings of our souls
And a rhythm that rattled us down to the bone.

He remembered how he would go over the top at karaoke. Virgil would scoff and tease him about being too extra, Patton would clap and Logan would nod and say he did exceptionally well but still a little frivolous.

He remembered the love between all of them. Not romantic, but just pure platonic and genuine love and care for each other.

Our love for each other will live on forever
In every beat of my proud corazón.

He moved on to Logan's room.

He remembered all the memories he had with the stoic trait. The nights of him teaching Roman about space, and Roman returning the favor by teaching him Spanish.

Ay mi familia, oiga mi gente
Canten al coro, let it be known

He looked around at the room. Logan never failed to amaze him. The room was covered in space themed items along with his plain desk in the center. He always admired the stoic trait's passion for learning.

Our love for each other will live on forever
In every beat of my proud corazón.

Next was Patton's room.

He smiled as he looked around. He looked at all of the pictures on the walls, all memories between the four.

He recalled how much of a father figure he really was. He always put their feelings above his and helped us in times of need. Even though his jokes were a bit corny, Roman enjoyed them nonetheless.

Ay mi familia, oiga mi gente
Canten al coro, let it be known

He stepped out of the room and wiped away any tears on his cheeks.

He flinched at the feeling in his chest. He was going to fade soon.

He was fine with that. It meant he could see his friends again.

Nonetheless, he was heartbroken to leave Thomas. They had so much fun together. The way he always had a smile on his face when any of them appeared.

But he knew he couldn't stay.

He walked over to the mindless lump that was now Thomas. He wasn't dead but he might as well be since he couldn't do anything without all parts of his personality and mind.

He hugged Thomas and bade him farewell. He finally, walked back to his room.

He looked around. He could admit he would miss it. The adventures, his Disney posters, but he missed the others more. So he would gladly part with the stuff.

The feeling was in his chest again, this time stronger. He knew what was happening.

It was time.

He smiled sadly and wiped away his excess tears once again. He sat down on his bed. He smiled and looked up. "Soon, my friends." He whispered.

Our love for each other will live on forever

He laid down, that pressure in his chest now extremely prominent.

He felt himself fading away. He welcomed it and let himself go completely.

He opened his eyes and smiled. Above his face were the others.

His friends

His family

He shot up and wrapped the three in a tight embrace, crying but this time tears of pure joy.

In every beat of my proud corazón.
