Broken Bone (Kyrielle)

A lyric searing in my throat,

Try as I may to carve a note,

To chisel music out of stone,

My fingertips are broken bone.

*

My soul is trailing eighty eight,

Masters of treason who dictate,

The puppet show as they intone.

My fingertips are broken bone.

*

Keys to a world, padlocked and sealed.

Arias roam about , concealed.

Haunting daymares my rout bemoan.

My fingertips are broken bone.
