Chapter 9

Its been a couple days since Airi last saw Seto Kaiba. She's been busy with her job and spending time with her friends. She was unsure where their relationship stood. He was ignoring her text messages and didn't pick up her calls. He didn't say if the contract ended or not; she was feeling lonely and confused.

She had been mostly busy with her work. The cafe she worked at had just renovated and the space is much bigger and she has a gig everyday. Many people swarm in to see her sing and she couldn't help but feel happy when she saw people come just for her.

It was a pretty quiet day at the cafe and so she was just sitting around waiting tables. That was until she saw a group of girls peering through the windows. They were whispering and pointing at Airi. She ignored it until the girls came inside and sat at a table. They rudely gestured for her to come take her order.

"Hello miss's! What can I get for you all today?" She smiled and some of the girls scoffed and laughed. The tall girl of the bunch started shushing them and told her their order.

"Alright, coming right up."

She thought the girls were acting weird that was until she heard their conversation.

"So that's the girl that Seto Kaiba is dating? She looks so plain." One girl said.

"I heard that they used to know each other during high school."

"What? No apparently she became too buddy-buddy with him and he didn't like it. That resulted in him telling her off that he doesn't like her."

"Wow, poor girl. Was she that desperate to date him?"

"Isn't she just after his money? She doesn't really care about him."

"She's no damn model." Airi gripped the tray in her hand as tight as she could. Getting mad at the words she was here. She took a deep breath and placed the tray on the table.

"If you're gonna stalk me and talk shit about me, at least do it so I wouldn't notice." She scoffs as the girls take their drinks.

"What are you talking about?"  The girl say and Airi laughs.

"I'm not after Seto Kaiba's money and I most certainly give two shots about him than you whores ever will. What we do is none of your business, now get the fuck out of my store before I make you." She points towards the door and the main leader scoffs and pouts.

"Suit yourself, let's go girls." Before they walked away, she threw her drink onto her uniform and laughed.

"Oops, my hand slipped." She said as she walked out the door. Airi resisted the urge to grab the girl but she was fine before she knew it.  She started cleaning up until her coworker walked up to her.

"What was that?" She asked and she shook her head.

"Jealous teenagers."

"Oh, you're dating Seto Kaiba aren't you? Wow you really did score!" She pats get back and Airi finishes cleaning up. During her break, she decided to look up articles about the two of them.

There was one article that was trending. It's headline made Airi freeze. 'Seto Kaiba and Airi Otogi are NOT in a real relationship; here's why."
