Chapter Three

" Jack, Jack come on I give up! ".
I sat down on the couch and crossed my arms when Jack walked out from behind the kitchen.
" why'd you give up you almost found me ".
" no I didn't you just said that so I could be happy ".
" why don't you hide this time, pick a good spot ok " he smiled.
" ok ".
I sat up and looked around, I took a deep breath, it was 5 in the morning, I set my feet on the ground and put on the soft gray slippers. Getting up I walked into the bathroom and turned on the light. I splashed my face with water, drying my face right after, I looked over to see Quinn roll over like she was trying not to wake up.
Why was I remembering that? It happened when I was 5 and my brother was 7, I guess I just miss him.
Quinn hobbled into the bathroom, rubbing her eyes. " your up early " she crocked.
" yeah couldn't sleep, thought I would just get up, have some more time in the morning to get ready " I whispered.
We both stood in front of the mirror, she passed me my toothbrush, " thanks ".
We both stood there for a good 30 second brushing our teeth. I walked back out and grabbed my clothes we took turns changing. There was a couple more minutes till breakfast.
" did you finish the homework? " Quinn asked.
" yeah I did, you? " I asked.
" yup it was so boring " she laughed.
" oh I meant to ask yesterday, why don't we learn in grades? " I asked.
" you know what, I have no idea, never really thought about it " Quinn smiled.

Sitting down at the table everyone was talking, Blake was there today, not late like yesterday.
" so Viv i'm calling you Viv, ok Viv, anyway how was your first day? " Winny asked with a bright smile on her face as always.
" pretty good " I smiled.
" well that's amazing because today's going to be even better, Trevor tells us your going to be working in the control room " Samuel smiled.
" the control room really, that junk place " Blake said, everyone quieted down and looked at their food.
" what it's the truth " Blake said in a rude tone.
" well I bet it's beautiful " I combated.
" anyway's why did you pick there? " Leila broke the awkwardness.
" sounded interesting " I said.
" guess your right " Leila agreed everyone else nodded their heads. The bell sounded for everyone to get moving hurds of kids got up and walked into the many different classrooms around the area.

Class went by faster than ever, " will see you guys later " Trevor said.
We walked down a long hallway.
" so where even is the control room? " I asked.
We turned a corner, " right here " he smiled, there was a small room at the end of the hallway with billions of computers.
" hey Dave this is Vivian she would love to be your new helper " Trevor smiled.
" fresh meat I see, Nice to meet yeah, well not much going on today so tomorrow if you could just come in tomorrow i'll show you the ropes, tell you the day's your going to work " he said.
" sounds good to me " I smiled.
" great, see you tomorrow, nice seeing you Trevor " Dave said as we walked back down the long hallway. We walked for a little bit, it was so quiet I need to break the silence
" he seems nice " I said.
" yeah, he is just don't get on his bad side " Trevor said.
" why not? " I asked as we turned into the library where everyone else was.
" he could turn into a vampire " we laughed.
" you have been reading to many books " I smiled, we sat down with everyone.
" so how'd you like it " Quinn asked.
" it was nice, I really liked it " I said.
Blake mumbled something under his breath.
" what was that? " I asked.
" I didn't say anything " he said.
" Blake everyone knows you said something " Winny said.
" it's just you like everything, but you've never love " he said.
" so, can't I like things and not have physical attraction to people " I said raising an eyebrow.
" I just don't understand why your here if you don't love, what's the point " he said.
" I was sent here by mistake " I said.
" still did you tell them that or did you want to get throw down here sent away from your family, taken away from your loved ones, but I bet they don't even miss you " he said.
" Blake come on " Samuel said.
I stood up, " see you all later " I got up and walked away, I kept walking when I came upon a sign that said " The Den ".
No one was in there, I walked inside and pulled out a basketball, I started to shot on the net.
Samuel came running in.
I turned around, " hey sorry about Blake " he said.
I grabbed the ball and turned around, " why doesn't he like me? What did I do to him to make him say all that stuff? " I asked trying not to cry.
" he gets like that sometime when, when he likes someone, but it still doesn't give him the right to say that " he said.
" I don't know a lot about love, but I do know if you like someone you wouldn't be mean to them " I said.
" he's my roommate I can talk to him if you want " he said.
" sure " I said.
" I don't know why he said all that's stuff about your family, i'm sorry " he said.
" your not the one who needs to say sorry, he is " I said.
" I never met my parents that's what hurts the most about everything he said ".
" I get it, my parents were taken away from me when I was four " he said.
" if love was banned then how were we born? How was anyone born? Everyone must have this love gen in them right? " I asked.
" you asking the wrong person " he said.
" well off topic, we have a little bit longer till dinner and it seems like no one is coming to get us to go in our rooms so, want to shoot some hoops? " I asked.
" your on Viv " he said.
" ok only Winny can call me that " I said bouncing the ball off the ground.
" and why is that? " he asked.
" she came up with it, she owns it " I said getting a score on the net.
" nice shot " he said, " thanks ".

We walked into the eating hall and were the first ones at the table, everyone soon joined us including Blake.
" how are you so good at basketball you crushed me " Samuel said.
" my brother taught me " I said.
" you guys played a basketball game, how did you get away with not being in the rooms? " Leila asked.
" no idea " Samuel said.
" teach me your way I don't like being stuck in the room " Leila said Winny punched her in the arm.
" ok not because of you it's boring just sitting there " she said.
" I agree with that " Winny said taking a bite of her chicken.
" Winny why are you always the one to start eating first? " Quinn asked.
" can't help it i'm hungry " she said.
" ok fine, I guess i'm hungry too " Quinn agreed and started to eat her food.
Blake looked over at me a couple times, but never said anything, just stared me down like he was trying to figure out what was going on in my head.
" Trevor how did you already finish your book? " I asked.
" what? I like to read, like a lot " he said.
" ok, but what book are you going to read now? " I asked as everyone else at the table was in a different conversation.
" I don't know, I still need to find something " he said.
" well tell me when your do " I smiled.
" will do " he smiled.

" hey Quinn, you know how you said you like girls " I said.
" yeah? " she raised a brow.
" just you and Winny would look cute together " I said.
" and what makes you think that? " she asked.
" I see the way you guys talk and look at each other " I said.
" even if, I did like her, she wouldn't like me " she shock her head.
" why not? ".
" i'm emo, she's so happy and bright and sweet and, perfect and i'm creepy and clumsy and, emo " she said.
" sounds like you like her to me " I said.
" no I, I don't know, i've never thought of her that way and if I ever did I blocked thoes emotions out " she said.
" well bring them back in because you too would be a cute couple " I smiled.
I rolled over to face the wall, I could sense she was looking at me, " I know you know i'm right ".
I closed my eyes
