Chapter Five

I sat in the library reading the book that Trevor gave me yesterday, I was almost finished. It was the weekend and I had to go work in the control room today, it was the first day on the job, I wasn't as nervous as I thought I would be.
I flipped the page in the book, I was now on page 200 only 23 more to go.
" hey " Trevor sat down across from me.
I glanced up, " hey " I smiled looking back down continuing to read.
" i'm guessing you like the book since your almost finished " he said.
" yeah it's really good, surprisingly, but I am a fast reader, i've been reading since breakfast ended " I smiled.
I closed the book and placed it beside me so Trevor and I could talk.
" so what's your favorite part so far? " he asked.
" the whole thing " I laughed.
" you'll have to read the other books " he said.
" how many more are there? " I asked.
" not including this one, 6 " he said, my jaw dropped.
" so I have to read 6 more books " I said.
" yeah " he said.
" at least I like the book so " I sighed.
" what time do you have to be at the control room? " Trevor asked.
" 2 I think ".
Trevor looked back at the time, " I would get going then " he said.
I looked at the time, it was 1:55.
" Crap! See you at dinner " I got up and walked down the hallway as fast as possible, as I reached the control room I slowed down so it didn't look I like didn't know the time. I knocked on the door.
" oh great you're here, I thought you forgot " Dave said.
" nope, I remembered " I scratched the back of my head, I walked over and sat down in the main gray wheely chair.
" ok i'll be back right before dinner you got this " he gave me a thumbs up and walked out of the room.
" ok you, you got this " I smiled looking at the video surveillance.
I saw people walk in and out of rooms, some computers showed the full room well others just showed the entrance, I saw Trevor follow Samuel and Blake into The Den. I turned to look at the full room. Trevor sat alone on one of the benches well Blake and Samuel played basketball. They were the only one's in The Den, minutes later, Leila, Quinn and Winny walked into the room.
They joined Trevor on the bench, who had just been reading a new book, I couldn't see which one. They were talking, but I couldn't hear what they were saying. Samuel and Blake walked over to join them, everyone started talking at once, I was getting lost. Trevor stood up said something then walked out of the room, everyone branched off.

I checked the clock it was 3, I had been here for an hour and it already felt like 7 hours. I clicked the button to close the doors.
I watched the hallways to see if anyone was not in there rooms, Dave must have seen when Samuel and l were playing basketball. I really wanted to know what everyone was talking about, they all looked really worried about something.
Trevor had never gotten mad before, at least not in front of me, but he looked the madest out of all of them, I really wonder what they were talking about and why it was so important?

Dave came rushing threw the doors at 5, " hey you can go now, I got it from here, see you tomorrow " he smiled taking my spot.
" yup see you tomorrow " I said before walking out of the room and down the long hallway.
I walked into the eating hall where everyone already was.
I sat down beside Trevor and Leila.
" so how was the first day on the job? " Blake asked.
Everyone looked at him with a confused look.
" what, i'm trying to be nice, we might as well be friends " he said.
" well it was good, thanks for asking " I smiled at this new refound Blake.
We ate in silence for a little.
" sooo, what were you guys talking about in The Den? " I asked.
" how did you know we were in The Den? " Leila asked.
" I was in a room with cameras I saw you guys, it look like you were having a very intense conversation " I said.
" oh it was nothing, we have conversation like that all the time, could you hears us? " Samuel asked with a concerned look on his face.
" no there was no noise, but should I have been listening? " I asked.
" I don't know should you have been? " Samuel asked.
" i'm just confused now " I said with wide eyes.
Everyone quieted down again.

We finished dinner early today, I walked into the study hall for the first time and sat down at one of the touch screen computers, you could see threw the screen. I went to search.
How to read lips on video?
I clicked on the first web sight and started to read thru the website, the main point say try your best and find what makes sense in your head, watch body language.
I felt my chair move, " what are you looking at? " Samuel asked, I hit the off button as fast as possible.
" nothing " I said looking up at him.
He grinned, " what? " I asked.
" nothing " he looked at me with a glimmer in his eyes.
I gulped, " where's everyone else? " I asked.
He broke eye contact " everyone headed back to there room's " he said sitting in the seat beside me.
" well i'm not going back to my room till ten too " I said.
" well i'll just stay here with you then " he smiled.
" wasn't it weird at dinner, Blake was nice to me " I said.
" yeah that was weird, I did remember to talk to and he said he didn't know why he was mean it kinda just came out " Samuel sighed.
" ok I don't believe that one bit, I think your friend lied to you " I said.
" wow I couldn't see that coming out of his mouth why would he ever lie to me " he said sarcastically, we both laughed.
" ok I need to know, what were you looking up? " he asked again.
" nothing that would interest you " I said.
" come just show me, I know your hiding something, you closed it way to fast " he said.
" i'm not hiding something " I said, he pressed the one button turning on the computer.
He looked over at me, " why are you looking at how to read lips? " he asked.
" something didn't seem right when you all were talking in The Den, I was just worried and Trevor never gets mad and he looked so mad at all of you " I said.
" you don't have to worry about it, nothing bad was happening, we made fun of him reading all the time, he got mad and left, we do it all the time trust me " he said.
" fine, I guess it was all in my head " I looked up at the time.
" we should probably get back to our rooms now " I said.
" yeah you're right "he said.

We got up and walked down the hallway, we passed other people in the hallway as well, I was about to walk into my room, " Vivian " Samuel said.
I turned around " yeah? ".
" see you tomorrow " he smiled.
" see you tomorrow " I smiled back walking into the room.
Quinn looked at me and raise her eyebrow, " what are you looking at? " I asked.
" he so likes you " she said.
" what no " I said.
" Trevor, Samuel and Blake all like you, but you can't see it because you don't know what flirting is " she said.
" your wrong, they know I will never love so why would they go for someone they can't love " I said.
" boys go for the people they can't have till they can have them, you'll see " she said.
" I won't see, because it's not true " I said sitting on my bed.
" ok " she sighed.
I shock my head, I crawled under the light blue blanket and rolled over, they couldn't like me, could they?
