October 12th
8:40pm

Taehyung nervously scratched his head, unsure of what to do.
He promised the younger he would talk to him, but the thought of leaving Jimin alone was extremely risky.

After all, there was not much time left, but he decided it was now or never. He was going to see Jungkook now and tell him everything, or avoid him for the rest of his life.

He looked through the window, Jimin was calmly watching tv.
His heart kept telling him to let Jungkook go and stay with his best friend, but his brain wanted the opposite.
Jungkook had the right to know about Jimin's condition, no matter what the boy, who was tiredly staring at the tv screen, said.

"I'm sorry Jimin," Taehyung stormed off, making sure no one would stop him, his head hanging low, hands in his pockets.

Minutes later, Taehyung drove in the parking lot and got out of his car, examining the empty and soulless place, looking for someone in particular– and he had found him.

Jungkook looked pissed and done with the rest of the world, which Taehyung could agree with on a certain level.

The elder opened his mouth only to be rudely interrupted by Jungkook, "speak," he harshly said.

Taehyung gulped, he didn't know where to start, much less what to say.

"Can we walk?" Taehyung asked, his head slowly rising to reach Jungkook's burning gaze.

The younger eyed him and turned around, walking towards the park.
Taehyung groaned in annoyance, running after him.

It had passed ten minutes and Taehyung still hadn't said a word, which caused Jungkook to burst, "are you gonna fucking speak or do I have to fucking ask you?!"

The ladder was scared.
Not because of Jungkook, but because of his reaction. He didn't know what to expect, I mean he himself might be even late to say goodbye to Jimin and that caused him to stop walking and take a deep and refreshing breath.

He was anticipating whether to finally tell him or not, and he chose the wiser choice.

"Where is he hyung? Where is my Jiminah?" Jungkook asked all of a sudden, with a soft and gentle voice.

"H–he, he," Taehyung stuttered, palms sweating, it was now or never, "he left. He left Seoul."

Yet again he acted as a coward as he mentally slapped himself. He couldn't tell him the simple words that Jimin is at the hospital, so a lie that he left Seoul was somehow a better and wiser choice.

"B–but, he didn't, he didn't say anything. He couldn't of left just like that!" Jungkook spat the words that had been waiting to explode out of his mouth, "he didn't call, didn't even message me. Why would he just leave all of a sudden?"

Taehyung's eyes started watering at the sight in front of him.

Jungkook was hurting enough, just by thinking Jimin had left Seoul and Taehyung didn't even want to think what his reaction would be like if he would've told him the truth.

Pure terror ran through his body as he imagined the horrible scene that kept appearing in his mind.

"You're not lying to me are you?" Jungkook looked up, his eyes all swollen up along with his lips.

At that exact moment, Taehyung wanted to punch himself, till he bled, for lying to the younger and he knew Jungkook would loathe him the second he found out the truth, but that was something to be dealt with later.

"I'm not," Taehyung murmured, regretting every word that left his lips.

"Hyung, I've had the most horrible thoughts and dreams about Jimin," Jungkook admitted, his cheeks stained of tears, "about him d–dying."

The last word hit Taehyung like an airplane and he was so close to completely breaking down in front of him.
"I got so worried, b–because," Jungkook wiped his runny nose, "because he wasn't answering my phone calls and texts and it felt like he disappeared."

The elder kept his head low, unable to look at Jungkook, afraid he'll figure out something's not right, "y–yeah," Taehyung choked on his own words, quickly covering it up with an exaggerated cough.

"Does he really hate me that much?" His lips trembled as he spoke, "does he hate me that much, that he wouldn't even tell me he was planning to leave?"

"He loves you, he loves you more than anything Jungkook and I wish I could tell you that," regret overtook Taehyung's face.

There was no reasonable answer to the rhetorical question, so Taehyung kept quiet.
Guilt was eating him alive and he wanted to tell him everything. Frightening thoughts raced through his mind as he remembered that he had to be there with Jimin for his last moments.

"I, uh, I gotta go," Taehyung looked anywhere but Jungkook.

Jungkook bit his lower lip, his eyes glowing with tears, looking like a complete and utter mess, "p–please, tell him that I love him. I don't care if he doesn't wanna talk to me or see me anymore, but please, this is the last favor I'll ever ask you do, tell him."

Taehyung turned around before walking towards his car, his face showing no expression, "I will."

11pm

Due to horrible traffic, Taehyung arrived quite late at the hospital.
He ran as fast as his legs could go, until he reached Jimin's room.
His heart pounded in his chest, tears already forming in his eyes, he was scared to open the door.
He was scared he would find out his best friend was gone.
He was terrified, but he had to open it either way.

A loud squeak was heard, as Taehyung slowly opened the door, revealing a pale Jimin on the hospital bed.

Shivers ran through the boy's body, as he slowly approached him.
Was he too late?

Taehyung's eyes welled up as he sat next to the freezing cold boy, "J–Jiminie..."

His head snapped towards the heart monitor, which seemed to show Jimin's heart pace.
His chest tightened as he saw the vertical lines that showed his heartbeat slowly becoming smaller and smaller.

His hands were intertwined with Jimin's and he held them tight, with the hope that it would make them warmer.

Minutes had passed and Taehyung flinched as he felt the hand below his, slightly move.

"Tae?" An exhausted voice caused the teary boy to look up.
"You're back," Jimin whispered, a weak smile appearing on his face, his breaths becoming slower and heavier by the second.

"Yes, I'm here, don't worry," Taehyung's voice cracked, his grip getting tighter around Jimin's small hand.

Jimin's face was getting paler every time Taehyung blinked.
"Talk to me," Jimin said, voice trembling.

Taehyung faked a smile, "about what?" His eyes showing nothing but loss and regret.

Anything," Jimin replied, "anything to keep my mind off of this."

The younger inhaled sharply, words shooting out of his mouth, with complete enthusiasm, talking about the most random things, as long as it meant that it would keep Jimin's mind off of his arriving death.
