Avalanche

Ice's POV

"What did you do this time, Dad?" - I asked in disbelief. I looked at him.

And yet all I can see is the triumphant smirk in his face. Its like he's about to win a battle in which the course is already predictable.

"Answer me, Dad." - I said annoyingly. I don't need smirks or grins right now. I need answers.

"How did Hailey and Blaze's meet up went? Was it nostalgic?" - He finished with a smirk.

So that guy was Blaze. The one who cheated on Hailey? No wonder they know each other quite well.

"How did you know him?" - I asked eagerly.

"I have sources and I have ways. I did a background check on her, if you might ask." - Dad answered in complete confidence.

"Tell me Dad, what are you planning to do by this?" - I asked. I really don't have a clue as to what he's planning to do.

"Nothing much. Don't you worry. The plan's all falling into place." - He finished again with a smirk. Now I know who I inherited my signature smirks. From him.

"Dad. Please. Spare her." - I pleaded. I looked straight into his eyes, trying really hard to make it work. To make my pleading work.

Who knows what he's really up to. And I know Hailey will be in a lot of trouble. And I wouldn't watch and let him hurt her. Goddammit! This guy's one hell of a wicked hag.

"You don't get to tell me what to do, Icekiel. And don't forget what I told you." - he said in a raised voice.

Hindi na ako sumagot. Dahil pag sumagot ako at puro pagtututol lang ang gagawin ko, babanggitin na naman niya kung gaanong ikinasusuklam niyang anak niya ako. At babalik na naman sa usapan tungkol sa ginawa ni Mommy.

Tumalikod na ako at akmang lalabas na nang biglang tinawag niya ang pangalan ko.

"Icekiel.." - tawag niya sa akin. "Don't you dare screw this up." - he threatened.

Lumabas na ako ng Study Room. At nakita ko si Aurora. She's wearing her worried face, as usual. And I don't have a clue why she's always like this.

Lumiko ako patungong hagdan paakyat sa second floor.

"Chill.." - she called out.

Tumigil ako sa paglalakad at humarap sa kanya.

"What?" - I asked in a cold voice.

"Can we talk?" - she asked out. All I can see in her right now is, pity. For me? It better not be for me. I don't need anyone's pity.

"About what?" - I responded coldly. Not minding the look on her face right now.

"About your Dad." - she answered with her worried face on.

"What about him?" - I asked eagerly.

"I know he's planning on something. And I know you're against it." - She answered.

"Yeah." - I answered dryly.

"And I'm against it too." - She added.

"Right." - was the only word I could say right now.
