Break the Ice

(December 6, Hailey's BIG Day)

Hailey's POV

"Hey birthday girl. Wake up!"

I heard a voice. Someone's calling me. I just don't know who that is. All's blurry to me now. Nakakaramdam din ako ng marahang pagyugyog ng balikat ko.

"Hail! Wake up!!" - said a voice again.

And then, someone just pinched me! I opened my eyes. And there, I saw my dear old bestfriend, making her famous pose. God! Can someone just let me sleep for a while?

"Now you're awake." - she mocked me.

"So what did you two lovebirds did last night?" - she flashed her wicked grin on me. Man! This is not really a good way to start my day.

"We strolled in the sand. Played with the water. Talked. And I finally came into realization that I--" - I cut myself off.

Oh my God! Did I just almost blurted out my real feelings for Ice?! Oh dear! This is so not happening! I'm toast.

"With all due respect. Please continue." - she gestured on me. I know what she really meant by those wicked grins on me.

I took a deep breath before I tell her. Do I really have to?

I'm picturing all the things that happened last night. It was really a night to remember. It's like watching a cheesy romantic movie that I would really love to play again and again.

(FLASHBACK)

"You're so gonna be dead right now!" - I said while chasing after him.

Well, right now is not really a right time to play 'Catch me if you can', But yeah, we're doing it. Stupid, huh? But this guy's really crazy!

Wanna know what this crazy guy just did? He carried me on his shoulders, half my body drops right on his back. I tried hammering his back. But he just doesn't seem to let me go.

"Put me down, you dimwit!" - I said while still hammering his back.

"Can do." - he did let go but much to my surprise, he dropped me right on the water. And yet all he did was to laugh at me.

Yung tipong pagbagsak ko, naka-inum pa ako ng tubig-dagat! Napaka-walang hiya talaga ng lalaking 'to.

Tawa lang siya nang tawa kaya naman kinuha ko ang pagkakataong yun, at hinila ko siya.

"Now it's my turn to laugh." - I laughed at him. Now we're even!

Tawa lang kami nang tawa habang naghahabulan sa tubig. Parang mga tanga na nga kaming dalawa. Actually, hindi parang tanga. Mukhang tanga na talaga.

Nung makaramdam na ako ng lamig, tinawag ko siya.

"Ice. I think it's getting too late. Tsaka ang lamig na. Baka magkasakit pa tayo. Tara na."- I said then started walking my way to the shore.

Oh hell! I look like a soaked puppy. And it's really uncomfortable looking like this and feeling every part of my body is soaking wet. Shorts. T-Shirt. And under-garments. Damn!

I saw Ice approaching me. Yumuko siya at kinuha ang jacket niya na hinubad niya kanina bago niya ako pagtripang ihulog sa tubig.

"Let's go?" - he said smiling.
