Superhuman (/ˌso͞opərˈ(h)yo͞omən/): having or showing exceptional, abnormal, or supernatural ability or powers. They are also referred as humans or human-like lifeforms with enhanced qualities and abilities that exceed those naturally found in humans.

Such beings were thought to be things of fiction; things of the paranormal or simply impossibilities. However, the world will soon find out that their assumptions were gravely wrong as descendants of people generations after the failed experiments awaken their true abilities in evolution, in turn artificially evolving humans into something more powerful in nature... the rise of a new sub-species of human immerged.

These human females awakened and gained their supernatural abilities at the age ranges of 12-15 years of age, and their abilities varied from simple precognition to pyrokinesis. The first group of "Superhumans" were isolated, 6 of them in total, and were researched.

Those 6 pre-teen and teenage girls weren't alone, as not even a year after they immerged more started to appear in several American states. All with new supernatural abilities of their own, and all were taken and contained by the government as they were labeled as potential threats.

The scientists managed to isolate a new and never seen before pair of nucleic acids that make up the mutation. The scientists soon after called the paired nucleotides X and Z, yet unlike the other nucleotide pairs they still have yet to find an official name for them.

These two base pairs are unique to that of others because they can morph and fit with any of the other base pairs; resulting in unpredictable DNA patterns, and leading to the person getting a unique and randomized set of supernatural powers.

It was soon found that each of the Superhumans were descendants from a select group of survivors from hundreds of years prior, the failed but surviving research subjects of the Supernatural experiments and how they were biologically capable of using and sustaining these Supernatural abilities of theirs.

The unknown mutation caused by a strange, new type of nucleotide was found in their DNA and subsequently named 'Gene-XZ'. They soon also found that the gene made the bodies of the Superhumans radioactive, and so researchers who were not careful of this biohazard died of cancer shortly after.

The government, with all of the information it now had on the new race of Superhumans, now had to make decisions on what to do with them. One side wanted to use them as bioweapons, make them into soldiers to defend the country from the many enemies it had at the time, and some even said execute them as they were threats to the human race.

However, the other side disagreed and wanted them to be treated like every other normal citizen and able to live freely and peacefully; giving them the free will to choose if they wanted to serve as soldiers or live as normal citizens.

Neither side could agree on anything, though, and this caused the government to split and go at war with each other; neither backing down and saying their choice is the right one. From there on, two color sides were created for the Superhuman race: Reds and Blues, each representing the two fighting sides.

Every new Superling who awakens during this time is also affected, as those unfortunate kids get wrapped up in a war they never asked to be caught in.
