(Tristina)
I would say this is a record for Mia, the fastest time ever that one of her missions have gone to hell. Well, more than any of her other missions anyway. I teleported back here once I knew I've beat the Reds, and I had to stop or else my tornado would've destroyed the whole neighborhood block.
Good thing there was only minimal damage, otherwise things wouldn't have gone down well. It has happened before, so I know it's possible.
I walked over to the medical center and past the people in the hazmat suits straight to Mia and Elana. I heard of what happened to Mia, and it was so like her; at this point however, it has become more worrying than anything.
You've got to be kidding me, Mia, I thought to myself as I sighed, if you keep taking these sorts of risks, you'll get yourself killed.
I shook my head at the thought, we can't afford to lose a skilled Superhuman like her; a powerful ass Superhuman like her. We are already stretched thin of resources and fighting forces as it is, and there are more and more awakenings happening each year.
"How is Mia doing?" I asked one of the doctors wearing a hazmat suit, and he glanced at the room behind him and then looked back at me.
"She's stable miss, but we had to put her in Isolation away from other Superhumans so her body will not be disturbed by other Superhumans. It is due to her PSI sensitivity, she's an Empath you know" The Doctor said, and then I nodded, walking away from the room.
I went to go find the others, I knew Nick was still having an emergency checkup and Elana is being stabilized right now and I don't know where Josephina went off to. I was on my own, and I didn't like that fact.
I have been here for years, and yet the other people here view me as the foreigner still. An outsider. An alien. I was the first person recorded to have awakened outside American borders, and after that I was granted immediate citizenship here in America because both the government and I knew I wouldn't be allowed to leave the country.
No one who awakens can leave this country for fears that the X-Gene could spread like a disease or be inherited in other countries. The first one seems unlikely which I agree with, but there is a possibility that a Superhuman's aura could excrete small amounts of the radioactive DNA through the form of a pathogen.
I still see it unlikely no matter which direction you look at it though, the X-Gene can only be inherited. That's what we were all taught anyway. I would hate to find out that the government were turning its newly evolved humans into bioweapons, the US has enough of that without our help.
I sighed, walking out of the clinic with barely any information. However, I knew it was standard procedure to keep essential information a secret. My past was always kept classified to, especially mainly where I was born until the Reds hacked our bases servers and the fact that I was born a Canadian citizen and not from America like the higher ups claimed I was.
My nationality was considered a scandal, and I could see why. Canada was a frenemy of America; the relationship was the same as the one between America and Russia thousands of years ago. The reasons for this tense relationship however was never really brought up, it was just something everyone accepted.

I lied on my bed, still feeling exhausted from going haywire with my wind-related powers. I only meant to create a small tornado, but it turned out becoming one that almost destroyed the town. A powerful force to be reckoned with.
I can see why the public is weary of Superhumans that can manipulate aspects of the weather; we were considered one of the dangerous types directly below those who can manipulate the minds of other people (but being able to manipulate entire crowds at a time is pretty damn rare).
The normal human population is still afraid of us, even after hundreds of years of proving ourselves to be a force of good and benevolence. We don't need to read their minds to know this either; it is shown subconsciously by them every time once they see our distinct brands. Humans are so easy to read nowadays its annoying.
"We will always be abominations, won't we?" I say to myself and sigh, looking at my hands and then looking at my bookshelf full of college textbooks, novels, and the old Superhuman handbook that I have kept ever since I came here as a newly awakened Superling.
"That all depends on how you see it" said a somewhat familiar voice, and I look over at the door to see Liz standing there. A 1st year Superling, and the new Apprentice of Josephina.
I could tell she had been wondering that same question to, but I could tell she had a scared look on her face like she had just seen some shit. As unfortunate as it is, however, all Foresights have similar expressions. They all gone through similar repetitive torture, and it never goes away. Ever.
They were evolved for this after hundreds of years of development of the Superhuman race, and now the brains of Superhumans are wired differently than that of a normal Human and trauma related to our powers is either very suppressed or we become numb to it. The psychological evolution takes effect differently in different Superhuman beings based on their abilities, but the side-effects are the things we are to be cautious of.
From the results of the early Superhuman tests and incidents encountered within the past few years, the side-effects can be dangerous to not just us but to the ones around us. It is said the abilities with the most dangerous side-effects are Precognition and Mind Manipulation.
Though there was one side effect from the second ability that always brough a chill down my spine: lust for control and possible urge to kill.
Now I know why the Human population is still weary of us.
