Superhuman: Awakening

As obvious as it may seem, something was up. Something bad. The emotions of everyone else in the room were starting to drain me... and I did not like it. Good thing I brought my phone, it would distract me.

                "Maybe you will get more answers as to who you really are, and what your sister is capable of" I told Nick, and he nodded in response.

                I could already feel Elana's Supernatural aura growing steadily, but quickly. It was abnormal for a Superling of her stage, her powers are already starting to show. At least the sooner her powers start to appear the quicker she can be categorized I guess.

                I sigh and look at my phone and look back into my boyfriend's texts, they always calm me down. My close Superhuman and Superling friends know of Kayden, and they ship me with him so much that they see us getting married once I turn 18.

                Hell, even Josi ships it, and knowing foresights don't usually keeps ships like this really says something. She even predicted that we would get married at 18, and her visions usually aren't really wrong.

                "Texting Jun were you?" Maddy said in a teasing way, and I chuckled with a slight blush. Nodding my head yes since we talk almost every day.

                "Yeah... especially in the party. What do you expect his mere presence comforts me!" I said, huffing while blushing like a tomato.

                I looked to Casey and she chuckled, I wanted to punch her in the shoulder but didn't. I just laughed with them, it was all fun and games after all.

                I sighed and they asked how he was and stuff, and I told them what they wanted to hear. He is still stationed in California, and I heard that his new Superior was my older sister, Valerie. I was sort of thrilled to hear this, and he was honestly kind of glad to; it was either Valerie or another Sargent who was mean and ruthless or Valerie, who despite looking tough and threatening can actually be quite a softie once you get to know her.

                Kayden Lee and Valerie also had something in common, they were both high priority recruits since they both had the rare X-Gene mutation and were immune to Supernatural radiation. There aren't that many people in the military ranks with an advantage like that, and the government is in desperate need of people like them.

                Valerie was an auburn dirty blonde, brown eyed, and pale-skinned woman who was also pretty tall. Last time I checked she measured to 6'0, taking after father surely. She even has the same eyes as dad, meanwhile my other older sister and I have different eyes. I have a combination, my mom's eyes are a pure green, my older sister Zoe has the same green eyes and really dark brown curly hair, while I have hazel eyes and I am taller than Zoe who was 5'4. I was 5'8, the middle on height wise and was a pure dirty blonde, looking more like Valerie than Zoe.

                Sometimes Valerie would intrude on video chats between Kai and I, but we didn't mind those. I miss her, it has been years since I've seen her or Zoe. Last I heard of Zoe was that she was accepted by a prestigious biochemistry corp. and is now helping with the biological study of Superhumans.

                I sighed, remembering the good times. Maddy and Casey said aww and continued to joke around about it meanwhile Elana just stared at me like 'wait you have a boyfriend?-'. I chuckled with them and nodded.

                "Okay okay, all jokes aside we still have work to do. Tomorrow is when we shift dorms, this means you, Elana, will be rooming with me from now on" I said to Elana, and her eyes lit up right then and there, but she also seemed sad that she won't be rooming with Maddy like she wanted originally. "Maddy is going to be rooming with her new Master, but I know her Master well. So don't worry, you two will still be rooming near one another along with Casey"

                Elana sighed a breath of relief and was back to smiling, though I knew we were both worried about what was happening with the people from our old school. I sighed and was just happy that everything was back to normal. Well, as normal as it can get anyway.

                Suddenly I felt a chill go down my spine as I heard another familiar female voice and the gasps of surprise of everyone around me, including Nick.

                "That is how things are, young one" she said, and I looked back and saw her standing at the doorway.

                Her brown wavy hair still looking as shiny as ever as it went down to her waist, her blue eyes were sympathetic and wise. She looked like a goddess, and looking barely out of her 20s even though she lived for millennia.

                I stood up and bowed to her feet as did everyone else. She, Monica Edwards, just smiled and waved it off. "There's no need to be so formal, young ones. Especially you, Mia" Monica said, and I knew this but I couldn't help but blush.

                I chuckled and nodded, Maddy and Casey didn't notice anything strange, and I guess that was good. I didn't mind at this point if they found out, however.

                "What are you doing here, love?" I asked Monica, and she chuckled and looked out the window, and that's when everyone's jaws dropped.

                "I came here for the ceremony," Monica said, and then she looked back at me with a loving smile, "and I am glad that I came, if I didn't then I wouldn't have been witness to the powerful aura of your new Apprentice. Now she is something special"

                The rest of us looked at her shocked, Elana didn't know what to say but I just chuckled and walked up to her, putting my arm around her shoulder. She looked to me and rubbed my head a little.

                "Hold up, love?! I thought you had a boyfriend Mia!" Maddy said, clearly confused and I could tell Casey was to. I had never told anyone about the fact that I had been in a polyamorous relationship for a few months now, ever since I finished my biological transformation.

                "I do have a boyfriend..." I said, and then Monica kissed me on the cheek and finished the sentence for me as I was nervous on explaining it.

                "But she also has a girlfriend, which is who she is to me. Kayden knows of me, and he is okay with us being together" Monica said, and then I blushed kind of embarrassed.

                "Guys, this is Monica Edwards..." I said, formally telling them. They were still shocked by this, and I had a feeling Josi already knew to but just didn't say anything about it. "... my girlfriend."
