(Elana)
No... please... I thought, memories of Angel, Opal, Kaitlyn, my other friends from school flashing through my head as I went into hysterics. It felt like it was all crashing down around me.
"We will figure out what is going on Elana... I promise. I'm sure it's something that will be contained and fixed..." Mia said to reassure me, "... hopefully"
Yeah, hopefully... like that was going to calm me down! I wanted to scream, but I couldn't do so.
I could tell Mia was seemingly tired, she did eat quite a few edibles after all. Great, she's buzzed on whisper edibles and half asleep because of it, no wonder she's mumbling under her breath a lot. I was glad she didn't drink any alcohol as I knew how Superhumans were when they are buzzed from alcohol, they can't control their abilities that well, but same goes for whisper edibles a little bit too due to its effects; so I would have to stop her from using teleportation, definitely.
"Of all the times for bad things to happen it had to happen while we are in a huge party!" Maddy said, speaking like a true extrovert.
I didn't mind parties that much, it depended largely on the day and my mood, but most of the time I can't be in one for more than 2-3 hours otherwise I would get mentally drained. Though when I see Mia and how buzzed from whisper she had gotten, I can tell this was secretly her worst social nightmare.
She must be an introvert, I thought to myself as I looked at Mia.
Casey came up to us, she must've sensed something was off with us because it was visible that Mia was acting like she was drunk... even though she didn't have any alcohol, or the fact that Superhumans are unable to get drunk.
"What's happening" Casey asked, though it sounded more like a forced statement more than a question. Casey sure had changed personality wise, she had always been quiet and reserved but... she was never this forceful with anything.
"Got a text from my brother Nick, remember the old school you went to before you awakened?" I asked Casey, and she nodded as she slowly started to smile at the funny moments we had back then.
"Yeah! It was fun until Lily and her gang ruined it in middle school. How is everyone doing right now?"
I gave her a nervous smile and chuckle, though I knew it unsettled her and the other 2 that were in the little group with me. She definitely wouldn't like the news.

"Whoever gets there last is a rotten egg!" Maddy said, running across the hallways like that wild child she was, and still is.
"No running in the halls!" One of the teachers who remained in the school still yelled out to us as we ran around, acting like fools.
Middle school was an interesting time, Maddy and I were still the crazy energetic balls of energy at that time while Casey was trying to keep up with us. Casey had always been a bit reserved and shy, and didn't talk unless she wanted to.
She was always in her own little world, seeing things that were unknown to Maddy and I at the time. When Maddy and I ran to the computer lab Casey's face lit up as she ran in and got onto a computer, which she was always doing.
Maddy and I looked at Casey and then to each other, not knowing what her interest in computers was that much.
"Come on! You're always on a computer!" Maddy said.
"Once you log on our ride will be here you know, it's best to wait til you get home to do that" I said, knowing I was right.
Casey sighed defeatedly and turned off the computer, nodding silently. Maddy and I looked at each other again and smiled, a mischievous idea entering both our prepubescent minds, making us laugh.
"Hey Casey, want to try and hack into the vending machine and grab some chocolate?" I asked her, and her face started to light up again.
Like Maddy and I, I knew Casey couldn't resist chocolate. Especially dark chocolate. Casey looked away slightly and smirked at the idea, liking the little mischievous plan.
"Fine... you had me at chocolate" She said to us.
Casey shot up out of her seat after turning the computer back off and we ran to the vending machines.
Before we knew it my father came to pick us up, and we came out with what seemed to us at the time a mountain of junk food. My father went wide eyed and was holding back a chuckle as he saw us looking like fools.
"How did you all get that much food?! Are you trying to feed a hungry village or something?" My father asked, chuckling as Maddy, Casey, and I got into the car.
"Just having some fun" I said to my father and he rolled his eyes with a playful smile.
"Okay whatever you say sweetie"
I smiled and went on with smiling with my two friends, laughing, enjoying the moment in a simpler time.

"Everyone at our school has gotten sick... a few are already dead, and others are sure to follow them..." I said to Casey, looking away from her.
Casey went pale as she grabbed Maddy's hand and my hand, her expression gravely serious as she pulled us to the exit. Mia was quick to follow, stumbling on the way but she could still speak and comprehend clearly.
"Nick knows more about it I'm sure" I said again, Maddy and Mia both nodded.
Casey looked at me, her expression and personality almost unrecognizable but at the same time familiar.
"Let's go then" Casey said.
