I was discharged from the ward soon after I fell asleep and I was carried to my dorm, where I woke up at. I faintly heard and remembered the voices telling things to one another while I was still encased in the darkness of slumber.

"I've never seen any Superling like her, she sure is an anomaly" I heard one of the voices saying as I had slept.

"There are more tests to be done on her blood, we have yet to see who her biological relatives are. Maybe who her biological parents are may hold the key to her unusual form" The other voice said.

"She has the mark of a Superling, but her abilities are coming much faster than even an advanced Superling. She already has the biochemistry and anatomy of a Superhuman... but this can't be possible. She only awakened a few days ago..." The third voice said, clearly as confused as the others were.

"Everything will be answered soon. The answers are in her DNA, and her biological parents as well..." The second voice said again, but the rest of it faded as the darkness grew more and more into my consciousness.

The noises soon faded, and the only thing left was the darkness and the silence.

"Wake up! It's been a while since I've seen you sista from another mista!" I familiar voice said to me as they shook me awake with the ferociousness of a bear attacking an animal.

My ears were kind of ringing, and I slowly woke up and didn't recognize the girl in front of me. All I saw was a blob of dirty blonde hair, but I soon recognized the girl in front of me.

"... Maddy? I-Is that you?" I said, vision was still hazy. Her blue eyes were still as happy and bubbly as I once knew them. I looked around the room and saw Casey looking through the window, the cloudy sky light bounced off her eyes as she was wearing glasses without the lenses.

She looked like she had changed; her face wasn't as smiley as I remembered, and her medium blue eyes were those of a broken young woman. What happened to her? I thought to myself as I looked at Casey, who herself seemed like a different person.

"... Casey? You've changed since I last saw you..." I said, and then she looked to me with a blank stare. She looked tired and sad, but I couldn't blame her. She always seemed to be a bit depressed and tired when she was still in school with me before we all awakened.

"I know..." She said softly, and then she waved goodbye and walked out the door, "I'll see you later, I hacked into the class schedules and we have the same lunch break and foreign language course."

Then she was gone before I could even wave back to her. I looked to Maddy who was kind of a bit shocked herself. She gave me an awkward smile and tried to change the subject by telling me that she was glad to see me again, but I couldn't shake Casey off my mind.

"What happened to her? Casey, I mean" I said to Maddy, though even I admit it didn't even sound like a question by how unintentionally harshly I said it.

Maddy looked away from me and to the window and the other side of the room and sighed, looking back to me. "A lot of things, a lot of personal things. I am sorry, but I cannot tell you what happened. I promised her I wouldn't tell. All I can say is that she had been scarred like that since she awakened when she was at home. She will tell you herself whenever she feels comfortable doing so" Maddy said, and then I wanted to say something but decided not to and just nodded.

"Sounds like something traumatic, if so I'm not going to ask"

"Yeah... you have no idea, but traumatic awakening stories are quite common across the Superhuman community. It makes you think doesn't it?"

"Yeah, it kind of does" I chuckled, but when I thought of the way Casey looked it put a hole in my stomach. Like something wasn't quite right.

"So how were all of our old friends doing?" Maddy asked with her perky voice back.

"Their good, but the strangest thing happened. Turns out the popular bimbo Lily was a Superling hunter, and she was sent there to take me when I awaken! Those darn Reds!" I told her, and then Maddy's face went pale. It was as if she was reminded of something horrifying.

"... Reds... no... why is it reminding me of this..?"

I looked at Maddy questioningly, but I could also feel something was going on with her to. Maddy sensed my curiosity and chuckled, wanting to change the subject, which I didn't mind that. I looked her in the eyes, and then I saw something in them... the memory of what happened, but I only saw one faint frame that was tainted red. I suddenly felt a lot of pity for her and I sighed.

"I'm sorry for your loss... I don't know how but I saw it and... its... it's not your fault" I told her, and then she went pale faced and that familiar smile went away, replaced with a strange frown that I never seen on her face before as tears started to go down her eyes.

"I know... I know it wasn't..." Maddy said to me, sobbing into my shoulder, "It wasn't me... it wasn't me!"

She was borderline screaming into my shoulder, I was getting concerned now and rubbed her back. I was going pale as I was getting a feeling I was going to throw up. I didn't say anything, and she looked at me with her wide crazy eyes that were scaring the crap out of me.

"It was a Hunter. The Red Hunter murdered my sister..."

My eyes went wide and I went pale, Maddy was having a panic attack and in seconds after saying that she screamed within her weeping.
