This war has been going on for millennia, and it was still going on. You would think that they would've figured it out what to do now right? Eh, I guess the government likes to see the public in chaos after all.

Superhumans nowadays are rarely seen in the public because once they discover their powers; the government comes to get them.

I was tired of this and hoping that I and my twin brother didn't have to have any part in this. I didn't want to leave home and be involved in a classified war between a split government. But when it comes to these sorts of things when it comes to Superhumans, my brother is lucky.

He is because so far, every Human with an active XZ Gene and gained Supernatural Powers from this were all Female Humans, and their powers appeared between the age of 12 to 15 years of age typically, though this can go younger to.

I didn't know what it was like for those people who had to be taken away from their homes, but I sure as heck don't want to be involved.

My name you ask? OH! Right, my name is Elana Caldwell... and I was in the game room playing on the gaming console with my twin brother Nick Caldwell. It was Tuesday, October 12, 4019.

My brother and I have some things in common, but not really. My twin brother likes to watch the reboot of a 2000-year-old show called with alien beings with powers, which now... doesn't sound as farfetched now in the year 4019 like it did back then.

I liked to draw and make videos to post on the web, but my parents monitor what I post because of the risk of people trying to kidnap me. I thought I was just an ordinary 14-year-old 9th grade girl, until I got to school.

"Come one Elana and Nick, you need to get ready for school!" Our mother shouted up the stairs. Nick rolled his eyes in response and sighed.

"Fine!" Nick yelled down, now that was the one thing we both agreed on... we both hated going to school. "Why didn't our parents sign us up for online school?!" Nick mumbled again.

"I feel you brother" I told Nick as we went back to our rooms and got ready for school. Just another day in the 9th grade.

Nick shut down his gaming console with the voice command and we both started to get ready for school.

It was 7:30 in the morning, and school didn't start until 9:45. Just in good time too, it takes me and Nick alike a long time to get ready for school. And I should know, I take a long time and I am out the door before Nick!

I got out my clothes and got in the shower, and after a few minutes Nick came in to brush his teeth. I knew he would be out of the bathroom before I got out of the shower; Nick only takes about a few minutes to brush his teeth.

After 2 minutes, he went out of the bathroom and back to his bedroom and got dressed. I got out of the shower, squeezing the water out of my semi-long caramel brown hair. I was wrapped in my towel, and I closed the door to the hallway between my bedroom and Nick's.

I dried off and got my long but cute blue and black shirt on and blue jeans, but I grabbed a pair of leggings and got my tennis shoes on. There was no way I was going to gym class with a pair of jeans on; I wouldn't be dressed for gym.

I was in one of the high advanced classes and I know three languages, two are my native ones and the other is one I had been learning since the 6th grade: English, Chinese, and Spanish. In school I was able to learn Chinese.

Kids in local public schools have been able to learn any language they wanted now; it has been that way for a few hundred years now. The languages to choose from were German, Korean, Japanese, Arabic, you name it.

And this was a required thing in US public schools since the nation allows people to speak in any language, they wanted, and due to that the government had made it an educational law that all public schools teach at least more than two other languages.

The state average foreign language classes in public schools were at least 5-6 choices of languages to learn. I and Nick already are bilinguals; we speak both English and Spanish. Nick and I travel to Peru, Spain, and Chile a whole lot of times, so we could speak both languages very fluently.

I was done brushing my teeth and my brother was done getting ready as well as I was, that was odd... we usually weren't ready at the same time, but this was a good thing.

Nick and I don't have any classes together; we were in totally different class placements. I was in the Advanced leveled classes and he was in the Average. Nick used to be in the Advanced classes with me, but he was moved back to the Average because he didn't have the grades for it.

But at least we have two classes together, and I always look forward to them.

Me and Nick had gym class together, and I was always put on the same team as him if it weren't separated gender teams. And believe it or not, we usually work together on the sports we learned to do.

I was wearing my zodiac necklace; the symbol of an Aquarius looked good with my outfit. I never wanted to take it off, but I had to; my mother made me.

"Well, I'm ready for school. Are you?" Nick said to me, and I smiled at him. He sighed, he knew what I was thinking, and he always did.

"Yes, I am, 'older' twin" I said with a smile on my face, and Nick sighed and slapped himself on the face. And it was true; we were born on different months. He was actually the older one, I just like to say I'm older cause I act more mature than he does.

But what can I say, he's my brother and I love him.

"It's time to get to school!" Mom shouted from downstairs, and we went down there and grabbed two toasted chocolate chip waffles. We were ready to go in the matter of seconds.

"You two are funny" Mom chuckled as Nick and I looked out the window. I then got out my book and read while Nick was listening to videos.

"Hope you guys have fun at school! Oh, and don't forget. You have a test today" Mom stated, and once she said test Nick cursed under his breath.

"Crap! I forgot to study!" Nick replied, and again... he forgot to study.

"Haha, I never forget to study" I teased with Nick rolling his eyes in response as I went back to my reading.

I knew instantly that my school day was going to get interesting; real interesting, real fast. Then something odd happened, I got a weird feeling in my head.

When I took off my glasses, my vision seemed much clearer... but then returned to normal again. What was that? That doesn't normally happen unless..., I thought to myself. And then I rolled my eyes at the thought.

There is no way, it must be just a coincidence, I thought again, last time I checked I wasn't related to any of the failed test subjects from generations ago.

Then we arrived at school, and it seemed like it always did. A two-floor school and a big one at that. "Have fun at school!" Mom called to Nick and I.

"Thanks!" Nick yelled back, and I knew what he was thinking; a similar thing to me.

I just hope this is a normal day, please hope it is! I pleaded to myself as I headed into the school with Nick.
