Ava woke up wrapped in Colin's arms. She smiled to herself and turned around so that she could watch him sleeping. For just that one moment in time, Ava forgot about all the problems that they had been having the past year. Carson starting crying and Ava slid out of Colin's arms to go and care for her son.
"Mommy's baby is cranky this morning."
She headed down the stairs and warmed a bottle for him. The shower cut on upstairs and Ava rolled her eyes, preparing herself for the war that would ensue once Colin walked down the stairs. Ava looked down at her son and smiled. He looked just like his father, and sometimes she hated the fact that she always had that reminder about how happy they had once been. It had taken her awhile to realize that her son was nothing like her father and he was perfect to her.

Colin walked down the stairs and saw Ava cooking breakfast he smiled to himself. He loved everything about her, no matter how many fights they had. She gave him his first born and the thought of her belly being swollen with his second child made his heart swell with pride, but right now wasn't the time for that talk. He walked over to his son and picked him up playing with him, making him laugh at the faces he was making.
"How long are you gonna be gone today," Ava asked not sparing him a glance.
"I'm actaully going to be gone for a few hours, then I'll swing by the store and pick up Carson."
"What about your whore?"
Colin sighed. Ava was starting up right on time.
"What are you talking about?"
She slammed the pot down on the stove and looked back at him.
"Who is she Colin?"
"Ava do you really think I'm cheating on you?"
"Yes I do, Colin, let's be forreal you're hardly at home and when are you home all you do is fucking sleep."
Colin knew where this going and he wanted to leave before he said something that he didn't mean.
"Ava I'm not cheating on you, so calm down with that bullshit."
"So where are you most of the time?"
"Working Ava."
"You're a selfish asshole."
"A selfish asshole, nope Ava it's called providing for my family, and YOU used to support me what happened to that person?"
"You're a fucking liar Colin and I hate you, you can't be working all the damn time and since Carson was born you haven't even looked at me the same."
Colin looked at Ava like she'd lost her mind. She would always hint to the fact that he wasn't attracted to her anymore since their son had been born, and she couldn't have been more wrong. Instead of trying to fight with Ava anymore he just left the house and drove to where he had to go.

"Do you really think he's cheating on you," Ashely asked.
Ashely was one of Ava's employees at her boutique Koture. Ava bit her lip trying not to cry.
"I don't know what to believe anymore."
"Why don't you talk to him?"
Ava laughed at her.
"Our talking always leads to some type of yelling match."
"Whose fault is that?"
Ashley had witnessed one of the fights and could testify that Ava was always the one to take it a step to far.
"I am."
"So why don't you scale it back and try to talk to him?"
Ava sighed and started shaking her head from side to side closing her eyes trying to keep the tears at bay.
"I know he's cheating on me, if he's home and his phone rings he'll leave the room and whisper."
"That doesn't mean that he's cheating."
"Yes it does."
Ashley looked into her bosses eyes and didn't see the same woman that she once knew. This woman looked like if you touched her she would have a breakdown, and she was already on the verge of having one now. Ava walked over to Carson and picked him up, she smiled at him and kissed his cheek. In her darkest hour all she had to do was see her son's smile and she was all better.
"I think you need to talk to someone Ava."
"I'll be fine I promise, now let's open up shall we."

Colin looked around the room and felt Anquan tap his shoulder.
"It's Ava isn't it?"
"Man, nobody said marriage would be this hard, we've only been married for all of five seconds it feels like and we're snapping at eachother everyday."
"What hapens."
Colin looked at Anquan. He was married, so he probably had the same battles he was facing.
"She thinks I'm cheating on her."
"Well, I mean you're really not giving her much else to go on."
"That's bullshit man, I keep food in the house, pay the bills, and love her with everything I have, shouldn't that be enough?"
"True, but you spend most of you time here, instead of with her."
Colin sighed.
"Well look at what trying to be a good husband got me."
"Colin, Ava loves you, but she did just have a baby six months ago, and from what I've seen, she feels that you don't love her."
Colin put his hands in the air.
"So bascially to prove I lover her I might as well fuck her twenty four seven, if that's what the problem is damn."
Anquan laughed at him.
"That's a bit extreme don't you think."
"Mr. Kaepernick where do you want this rack?"
"Over in the corner please."
The real reason that Colin had been so busy was he wanted to surprise Ava with a new studio. She had a home office, but on days where she didn't want to stay home he wanted her to have a place to go and was also in the process of setting up a play room for Carson so he would have something to do while Ava worked.
"Y'all gone be ok man."
"I hope so."
As Colin watched the movers arrange everything the way he asked, he thought about Ava. He loved her and deep down she knew he did. Part of him felt like he wasn't doing his part by telling Ava that he loved her, but the other part of him felt like he shouldn't have to tell her he loved her because he showed her through actions. Either way they needed to come together, without starting a fight and figure out where they had messed up and work through their mistakes together.
