Ava laughed as her and Carson were having a dance battle. Colin had been gone for a few days and Ava was focused on home, while her husband went out to provide for his family.
"Let's take a break."
Carson shook his head.
"I wanna keep dancing mama."
Ava switched the game that they were playing on single player.
"What do you want for lunch."
"Umm burgers and fries."
Ava rolled her eyes playfully and went to get started on lunch for her and her son. The house phone rung and Ava answered it.
"Hello?"
"You have a collect call from Layne Barker. Do you wish to accept the call?"
"Yes."
"Ava."
"What do you want Layne?"
"Hear me out please."
"You have five minutes go."
"How have you been?"
"Just peachy," she answered sarcastically.

Layne took a deep breath. She had a lot to tell Ava, she just didn't know where to start.
"Two minutes," she heard Ava say.
She couldn't bring herself to tell her cousin the things that she so desperately needed to know and decided to wish her the best in everything that she did before Ava hung the phone up. In three years, she would be a free woman and when she was out she wanted to tell her cousin everything that she had found out. Although it would destroy her happiness in the process.

Colin smiled down at his phone. Ava had sent him a text of her, Carson, and Spencer pouting. The message was captioned 'we miss you.'
"Earth to Colin."
Frank Gore waved his hands in front of his quarterbacks face.
"What's up man?"
"We going to the club, you rolling out?"
"Nah, imma sit this one out."
"Awe, Kappie misses is wifey."
Colin chuckled. Of course he missed his family. He knew that they were hitting up a strip club and Colin didn't have time for that. No female could compare to what he had at home.

"I have a loose tooth daddy."
"Really."
"Yea and I beat mommy in a dance battle."
Ava rolled her eyes.
"You just had to tell him that."
Carson laughed as his mother tickled his sides. Colin smiled and wished more than anything that he could be there to participate in the fun. Carson yawned and laid his head on Ava's chest.
"Someone's sleepy."
"No I'm not."
Ava laughed and kissed his forehead before he crawled out of her lap and laid down on Colin's side of the bed. Ava let Carson sleep in the bed with her when Colin wasn't there because she hated the emptiness she felt whenever her husband wasn't there. Colin noticed that Ava had music playing in the background.
"What are listening to?"
"PCD, want me to sing to you."
"Hell yea.
Ava giggled before she sung along.
'Nobody gon love me better I must stickwitu forever nobody gon take me higher I must stickwitu'
As Ava sang, Colin closed his eyes and imagined that he was laying on her chest, and she was rubbing his head. Ava glanced at Colin, simply watching him sleep and smiled her poor baby.
"Goodnight Colin, I love you."
She shut her MacBook and got herself ready for bed.
